Probably a year back my favorite color in makeup was only brown. Lipstick brown, eye shadow brown, blush brown. But that was a story before I got connected to IMBB. Now my makeup has all the colors but brown. I was very skeptical towards using a red lipstick, but I gathered some courage and bought the L’Oreal Red collection for Freida Pinto which I reviewed here on IMBB. The kind of compliments I got, gave a great boost to my confidence and I ended up buying more reds.
I kind of really like the lipsticks from Gerard Cosmetics and have already reviewed All Dolled up and Tequila Sunrise. Now here is for you Fire Engine.
Price: $19 (But I got it for 9.66$ with free shipping to India)
Ingredients: Not mentioned.
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a small golden tube which has a curved cap with Gerard Cosmetics written on it. The name and number is mentioned at the bottom. The cap opens and shuts with a click.
Company Claims: Red Hot lips are classic and timeless. Meet Fire Engine, our take on the glamorous Hollywood Lipstick that really turns up the heat.
My Experience With Gerard Cosmetics Fire Engine Lipstick:
Fire Engine is an awesome classic red. Not too loud and not too subtle, just the perfect red every women dreams of. I find red lipsticks to be very classy and this one is no exception. As the company claims, red lipsticks are truly classic and timeless. Winged eyeliner and red lips are just priceless. Every woman, be it fair skinned or dark, can carry off red lips easily.
Fire engine, unlike the two others that I have reviewed here, is smooth in application. Although it does not have an extremely creamy texture, it is soft enough to give you a smooth application. This one will not tug at lips. Fire Engine is matte in finishing. No glossy or shimmery look. I would suggest prepped up lips as red color tends to accentuate flakiness and dryness on the lips. There did not seem any need to apply lip balm prior to its application. These lipsticks do not dry out the lips, but at the same time, it does not moisturize either. I basically have dry lips so I generally use lip balm always. Fire Engine is extremely light on lips.
The pigmentation is crazy. Single application is enough to get the right shade. At the same time it’s intensity can be built up with layering. It is not at all cakey or heavy, when multiple layers are applied. This one is such a bright red, that its intensity can be worked upon depending where and in which situation you are wearing it. Light application for office and a bit darker for evening parties. Full on color for summery weekends. Also, it stays for long for around 5-6 hours. And even after a full meal, it did not budge too much. The brightness was reduced but the lipstick was visible. Also, it did not seem to transfer much. Even after fading away, there was this cute reddish stain on my lips. I had to remove it with a makeup remover.
I am totally in love with this shade.
Pros Of Gerard Cosmetics Fire Engine Lipstick:

• Soft texture.
• Smooth application.
• Cute Packaging.
