Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick In Shade 1995 Review

The product I am going to review for you guys today is an absolute favorite of mine. Jaclyn Hill (the famous Youtube makeup guru) teamed up with Gerard Cosmetics to create this particular lipstick.

My Experience With Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick In Shade 1995:

The Packaging: This lipstick comes in a gold tube and I am a fan of gold packaging because it makes the product look very high end, luxurious and pretty. This lipstick looks absolutely gorgeous. Take a look for yourself.

Texture and Pigmentation: The lipstick is extremely pigmented, has a great texture, rich color and glides on the lips very smoothly and evenly. It is a very classic matte color but is not at all cakey as some matte lipsticks can be. This is a great quality lipstick. It is not moisturizing though so if you have naturally dry lips like I do this lipstick will make them look like shriveled (see my pic below), I will suggest using a chapstick or a lip balm before you put on the lipstick. For comparison of how this looks on my lips with and without a lip balm, refer to my pictures.

The Shade: The shade is called 1995 and is inspired from the 90s and famous Kylie Jenner’s lips. The description on the website says “Get inspired by the neutral nudes of the 90s with Jaclyn Hill’s signature lipstick, 1995. Inspired by the 90s grunge revival and the beauty trends of an unforgettable decade, this iconic creation is a matte but creamy lip color that isn’t trendy but a timeless expression of glam.”

It is a very beautiful shade with mauve and brown undertones. I think this shade is amazing and will look great on all skin tones.

 

Staying Power: The lipstick does not cake up as most matte lipsticks tend to and stays on easily for 4-5 hours.

Pros of Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick in shade 1995:

• Amazing quality.
• Gorgeous packaging.
• Glides on very smoothly.
• Beautiful shade that will look great on all skin tones.
• Does not cake up on the lips.

Cons of Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick in shade 1995:

• Not particularly moisturizing.
• If you have naturally dry lips, this lipstick can shrivel up the lips. Use with a moisturizing lip balm.
• Pricey.

Definitely would love to try other shades particularly in nude and coral.
