It is still hot where I live and so, I wear shorts and skirts on most days. Hence, I have to shave my legs on a regular basis and I am sure that there are many like me, who love hot weather sport shorts and skirts. It is fun to flaunt legs in cute shorts and they are so much more comfortable than those skinny jeans, which make one sweat to death. Beauty comes at a price and I know how much we all try in ensuring a good hair growth on our scalp. Some of us have the luxury and time for waxing every now and then, but most of us resort to shaving and suffer from razor burns and nicks, hence it is better to use a shave cream or gel for this purpose.

My Take on Gillette Venus With A Touch Of Olay Violet Swirl Shave Gel:

In the past, I have used only soap lather to shave my legs and it worked just fine except that it hurt my skin, especially thigh skin. It gave me visible burns and nicks, which would stay for a while and soon it would be time for another shaving session and more razor burns. Hence, I decided to include shaving cream in my routine to get a closer and smoother shave and avoid razor burns.

Packaging:
This cream comes in a pressurized can that is golden in color with a blue plastic cap on top. It has a plastic nozzle, which dispenses product when it is pressed. The product comes out in gel form, which foams when applied on skin.

Texture:
It looks and feels the way any shave cream feels like except that it has a very sweet fragrance, which gives it a more feminine appeal.

Fragrance:
As I had mentioned before, it has a very sweet fragrance. I cannot point it to anything particular, but still it’s pleasant to my senses.

Efficacy:
It does give a smooth and clean shave and reduces razor burns considerably, especially on upper thigh region, where the skin is extremely delicate. It reduces hair growth by a day or two and I have to shave only twice a week unlike every alternate day, which I did when I used soap to shave. For best results, one should first exfoliate legs with warm water and exfoliating gloves, then apply a generous layer of shave gel and lastly use a nice razor to remove hair. The whole process is faster and smoother if a shave gel is used, hence it is better to invest in a good shave gel rather than using soap lather.

Would I Repurchase/ Recommend Gillette Venus With A Touch Of Olay Violet Swirl Shave Gel?
Yes, but not this particular fragrance and will try out other fragrances as well. I recommend it to all those who shave their legs on a regular basis and want to avoid razor burns and reduce hair growth.
