This review will be on the Giorgio Armani Eye Tint in the shade “#7 Shadow.”
A long-lasting, tinted formula with the comfort and smoothness of a cream for intense, vibrant eye looks.
What it does:
This innovative formula transforms from liquid to solid, instantly adhering to the eyelid while providing 16 hours of smudge- and crease-proof wear. Formulated with a hold booster, a creamy polymer with glycerine that allows pure color pigments to blend together seamlessly and stay on lids. This tint is infused with a color vibrancy booster, which is enriched with natural pigments and pearls. This unique complex works together to evenly disperse high-density color. This eye tint features dynamic runway-inspired shades that can be used as an eye shadow or eyeliner, or layer them together for natural to glamorous looks. This innovative formula debuted at the Giorgio Armani Womenswear Spring/Summer 2015 show.
My Experience with Giorgio Armani #7 Shadow Eye Tint:
Packaging: These eye tints come in an innovative packaging. They have a lip gloss type of tube with a long doe-foot flat applicator. You can see the color of shadow through the tube which is great for those who own a few shades from this range. This type of packaging is extremely travel friendly and easy to use on the go.
Texture, Pigmentation and Application: These eye tints have a very whipped and creamy mousse-like consistency. You can apply the color directly on the lid with the help of the wand and blend out with your finger in patting motion. It’s super easy to use and literally takes minutes whereas the eye makeup look that you get appears as if you have spent hours perfecting it.
This particular shade has amazing pigmentation. I find it looks best applied as a thinnest layer which still gives opaque coverage. I do not find that I need to use any sort of base underneath which is needed to compensate for patchy shimmery shadows. This shade just on its own does gives amazing results.
Shade and Finish: Shade 7 Shadow is a cool toned greyish silver. It has a slight purple undertone in the swatch, but it doesn’t translate like that on the eyes. This particular color will pair fabulously with all your silver-based party attire or when you are wearing silver/white jewelry and gold tones in makeup clash with the overall look. When wearing such a cool-toned eyeshadow, make sure to balance out the rest of you makeup like your lips and blush with a similar undertone for an overall cohesive look.
The finish is very metallic and shimmery, hence this eyeshadow is more appropriate for party wear rather than day time.
Staying Power: The staying power is amazing. Once these eye tints set on the lid, they do not move. The shimmers don’t travel on the face. I wore this recently at a party paired with Indian attire and it stayed flawless the whole time I wore it around 7 hours and showed no sign of fading or creasing.
Overall, I absolutely love these eye tints. They have an amazing, easy-to-use formula and come in an array of beautiful shades.
In the EOTD, I have used the shade “Shadow” all over the lid, blended with finger tips and dabbed some matte grey eyeshadow in the outer V for some dimension.
