My Experience with Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro Intense Velvet Color – #501 Casual Pink:

Packaging:  Comes in a lip gloss/liquid lipstick type tube with a vivid red cap and the GA logo. The shade is easy to spot through the see-through tube. The applicator wand is doe foot, thin, flexible and precise and allows for easy application.

Texture:  This product has one-of-a-kind of beautiful texture. It has a very soft, cushion-y, plush feel on the lips. It is like a hybrid between a gel and a cream. Even though Giorgio Armani was one the pioneers of these lip cream type products, I see a lot of companies coming out with their own version of lip products similar to this which cater to people who cannot handle the absolute drying nature of a liquid lipstick. Some of the products which come to my mind are the NYX Liquid Suedes, Ofra Liquid lipsticks, the new Tartelette Lip paints.

Application, Pigmentation and Finish:  Application is quite easy and one swipe deposits full opaque pigmentation that’s good enough to cover even pigmented lips. The finish is not streaky.  I would describe this finish as a soft matte instead of a full-on drying matte finish like most other liquid lipsticks. The con of a finish like this is that it does not dry down to a full transfer-proof finish like most liquid lipsticks, but this formula and finish is much more forgiving on dry lips. It does not accentuate fine lines on my lips and makes my lips feel very hydrated and comfortable throughout the wear time.

The finish is creamy sheen (not glossy) during the initial hour of wear but dries down to a soft matte. It makes the lips look velvety and plush.

Shade:  The shade #501 is a beautiful dusty mauve. This is a very flattering shade for most skin tones. It is such a versatile shade and you can wear it for any and every occasion, be it casual or dressy. I love love love this shade.

Staying Power:  Staying power is pretty impressive. I get almost 6 hours of wear with eating and drinking, longer if I avoid that. I usually feel the need to touch up after a full meal and unlike traditional liquid lipsticks that make reapplication difficult and you would have to remove the whole lipstick and start over, these lip maestros pose no such problems.

When it fades, it leaves a soft stain behind.

Overall, I am truly addicted to this lipstick. I love everything about this lip color – the shade, the finish, and most of all, the dreamy formula. I know for certain that I am going to hoard more shades from this range. I think this product is worth every penny and I highly highly recommend this.
