My Experience with Giorgio Armani Sweet Fire Eyes to Kill Silk Eye Shadow:
It came in a black carton as an outer packaging. The product is packaged in a glass container with a black lid. On the lid, ‘Giorgio Armani Eyes to kill’ has been printed in silver. At the back of the glass packaging, manufacturing details have been printed. The amount of product given is 4g by weight. As you open the lid, there is a plastic cover which keeps the product from drying and pressed in shape. There is no mirror or applicator provided in/with the container. The packaging is very similar to Maybelline Color Tattoo although the product looks more like L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadows. It is travel friendly and sturdy.
Texture is the most interesting part of this product. If you remember, I have reviewed many ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadows earlier. The texture is same. It is neither a cream product nor a powder product. It cannot be called as mousse product either. The texture is wet, but as soon as you apply on skin, it changes to powder. If you press on the product, it yields a bit, leaving a fingerprint.
It is smooth, silky and soft. One thing I observed was while taking the product on my finger, it did crumble into little flecks on the product itself. But, while applying on wrist, it became smooth again. The best way of application is using fingers, as any brush will not be able to pick up this kind of a product easily. To blend, you have to use a blending brush or MAC 217. If you want to build it, up you have to do it fast as it sets quickly. There are very little specks of shimmer, which are only visible when you blend the product a lot.
They charged a lot of money, it had to be pigmented! No other option. This color looks pink shade infused with purple flecks, but on taking a swatch, it came out to be a beautiful rosy pink shade. The finish is metallic. Perfect for anytime wear. This shade will flatter Indian skin tones a lot. I tried this as a highlighter on lips to give lips little dimension and the eyeshadow performed perfectly. Do not try on face as a highlighter as you may end up having pink shimmer speck here and there.
It stays on eyes for a very long long time. I cannot say how many hours, but I tried for 9 hours and went off to sleep. When I woke up (4-5 hours later) this shade was right there without any creasing. It got a little blended in the corners because I have a habit of touching my eyes. I used it on a neutral base like NYX eye shadow base.
Pros of Giorgio Armani Sweet Fire Eyes to Kill Silk Eye Shadow:
• Very pigmented
• Flattering color
• Smooth texture
• Long staying power
• Blends easily
• Easily available
• Sturdy packaging
Cons of Giorgio Armani Sweet Fire Eyes to Kill Silk Eye Shadow:
• Pretty expensive
Would I Recommend Giorgio Armani Sweet Fire Eyes to Kill Silk Eye Shadow?
Yes, I would recommend this to everyone. But, I would give them two drugstore dupes options too. One is ColourPop Cosmetics and other is L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows. This eyeshadow is a collector’s item. For me, this product is nice to keep and watch, but not to use all the time. 😛
