After days and months of reading tons of reviews on IMBB and buying almost every product, based on these reviews, I am finally writing one. I hope you all will find it helpful in some way.
I am reviewing a wonderful shampoo by Giovanni. I am in love with this brand’s hair care range or ‘Eco Chic Hair Care’ as they call it, for the very reason that all their products are organic.
After battling with hair fall, limp, dull and lifeless hair for quite a few months, I decided to switch to SLS free shampoos and I was happy with my decision, only when I came across this range of hair care products.
• Horsepower expanders add max volume and max life to hair that is limping through life.
• Increases volume in limp, lifeless hair
• Strengthens thin, fragile hair
• Protects fine hair from damage while building body
• Lauryl and laureth sulfate free.
Hit the road Jack and don’t you look back no more. ‘Cause Root 66TM is stretching ahead revving its horsetail horsepower expanders to add max volume and max life to hair that’s limping along through life. Contains Horsetail Extract, a healing herb, rich in nutrients and high in silica to help keep hair strong. Wash in bounce, wash in strength, wash in body. So put the pedal to the metal. It’s a minimum price to pay for big time volume.
Lather into wet hair. Rinse and repeat for maximum volume. Follow with Root 66 TM Max Volume Conditioner and Root 66 TM Max Volume Directional Root Lifting Spray for big time body.

We do not add parabens, lauryl or laureth sulfate to this product.
The shampoo comes in a white translucent bottle with a flip cap which locks quite firmly which makes it easy to use as well as travel friendly. The slim bottle which tapers towards the top goes well with the description of the products being “Eco-Chic”
My Experience with Giovanni Root 66 Max Volume Shampoo:
Giovanni is becoming my favorite hair care brand. I tried this shampoo after the Giovanni Smooth as Silk Moisture shampoo. Both are wonderful products. This shampoo is transparent in color and has a fresh fruity fragrance which doesn’t last too long. I rather it did as I love it when a shampoo makes my hair smell nice even after I rinse it off. The consistency is a bit runny.
The description and the claims mentioned sounded too far-fetched to be true. Honestly, I did not expect it to live up to them. They are just strategies which tempt us into buying the product. I just hoped that this product would add a little volume to my hair so they don’t appear lifeless. And, that it does to a decent extent.
The best part about this shampoo is that it lathers well despite being SLS free. This I have not experienced with other SLS free shampoos. Lathering always gives you a squeaky clean feeling which is very important for me when I wash my hair.
This shampoo makes me believe that it is not necessary that all organic products, free from harmful chemicals have to smell bad and be difficult to use. But it does not add much moisture or shine to the hair. I have to rely on my Smooth as Silk Deep Moisture Shampoo for that.
To sum up, it’s a good product which does add some volume to my hair and leaves them manageable and pretty looking. I am happy with it as most shampoos which claim the same do absolutely nothing to add volume or bounce to the hair. I used it with the conditioner from the same range and that worked wonderfully too.
Pros of Giovanni Root 66 Max Volume Shampoo:
Free from SLS, Paraben and artificial colors.
Contains a lot of USDA (U.S Department of Agriculture) certified organic ingredients.
Gives a decent amount of volume to the hair.
Smells nice and fruity but not too overpowering.
Lathers well despite having no SLS.
Controls hair fall to a certain extent.
No Animal testing.
Chic packaging (looks nice on my bathroom shelf 😉
Cons of Giovanni Root 66 Max Volume Shampoo:
A little pricey.
Does not add a lot of moisture or shine.
