Gold and Maroon Bridal Eye Makeup

Gold and Maroon Bridal Eye Makeup

Hello Ladies,

Gold+and+Maroon+Bridal+Eye+Makeup

Weddings are always special, and especially your own wedding is the day to remember and cherish for the life time. We all want to look our best on our wedding day and so we want the best makeup and clothes for that day.  I too had lots of plans for my wedding and I loved and enjoyed every bit of it.  My wedding date got finalized on a very short notice.  I was staying miles away from my hometown and that was the time I got some very important assignments to finish before leaving for my wedding. I had no time to go for my wedding lehenga shopping, so I left it on my mom and sister. When they asked me what kind of lehenga I wanted, I said anything nice, but please don’t buy me a red lehenga! I wanted something different than the usual red lehenga and when I saw the lehenga my mom and sister bought for me, I was happy that I gave this responsibility to them. I wore a golden lehenga with maroon dupatta for my wedding. I am sharing the picture of my lehenga here (had no patience to take it out again and click pictures, so chopped one of my wedding pictures).

So, if you are a bride-to-be, and going to wear a lehenga in a similar colour, then this eye makeup tutorial will be very helpful for you.  Otherwise also, golden and maroon are the most commonly used colours in wedding saris and lehenga, so if you are going to flaunt these colours, you can go for this eye makeup look I am creating here. I am using the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Bold Gold and VOV Eye Shadow Palette to create this look.

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

Step 1:

Conceal the skin around your eyes, and apply a good eye shadow primer on your eyelids.  This will help the shadow stay longer and colour will be vivid.

Step 2:

Define your eye brows with brow powder or pencil. With such bright eye makeup defined eye brows are a must.

Step 3:

With your finger or the brush, apply a golden eye shadow all over your eyelid. I have used Maybelline colour tattoo in bold gold, this is very long lasting and worked well as base for other colours.

Step 4:

Take maroon colour eye shadow and with help of brush, apply it on ¾ of your eyelid starting from the outer V of eyes. Dab colour until you get required intensity.

Step 5:

Take a light pink colour eye shadow and apply it in the inner corner of your eyelid. Do the same for the lower lash line too, as shown in picture.

Step 6:

Take the same golden shadow and highlight your brow bone. Highlighting this area gives lift to your eyes and eyes appear bigger.

Step 7:

Take brown + bronze colour shadow on a brush, place it on your crease and go back and forth to create depth there with this dark shade.

Step 8:

Take yellowish golden eye shadow on a fluffy brush and go all over eyelid and brow bone with a very light hand. This is to fade any harsh line and mixing the colours well.

Step 9:

We all love to have sharp lines at the outer V of the eyes, so here is the trick to get that. Once we are done with putting all the colours, take a clean ear bud and swipe it against your skin at the place where you want the clean line. This will wipe extra shadow and make a neat and clean line there.

Step 10:

With the golden cream shadow and a liner brush, apply golden colour at your lower lash line.

Step 11:

Apply kohl on water line and tight line your eyes. Rim your eyes completely with kohl, this will define eyes very well, and it looks very good for Indian brides (and elders feel it will keep you safe from evil eye :P)

Step 12:

With gel eyeliner, line your eyes, create a wing to exaggerate the look.  Keeping the wing long or short is your call. I have used gel liner and then liquid liner on that to get dark lining.

Step 13:

Once the liner dries, curl your lashes.

Step 14:

Apply two coats of a good voluminizing and lengthening mascara. You can use false lashes too if you like them.

Step 15:

That is all, your eye makeup is done. Now, do the rest of your face. Wear a bright colour, preferably berry red lipstick and rock your D-day.
