Hi everyone…:) today I am gonna do a makeup tutorial which I think will be perfect for holiday season. You can wear it for a Christmas party or even for a new year party. I’ve done a series containing 4 looks for the party season and this is the first one. Hope you guys like it. Let’s get started..
Step 1: Prepare your face by applying your base makeup i.e., moisturizer, if possible primer, foundation and concealer. You can also apply your base makeup after you are done with the eye makeup..this will help if there are any fallouts from the eyeshadows because we can easily clean those fall outs without any fear of ruining the base makeup. Your choice.
Step 2: First apply the eyeshadow base wherever you think you are gonna put the eyeshadow. Blend it. I applied it even on the lower lash line.
Step 3: Now take the highlight colour (matte/shimmery) and apply it just on the browbone up to the crease. This will help blend the darker crease colour effortlessly. But be careful if you are using a shimmery highlight colour because if you want a matte dark effect in the crease this can ruin it. In that case just use loose face powder or a matte eyeshadow which is close to your skintone..this will not ruin the matte crease colour and also does not change the colour of your crease eyeshadow.here I used a light creamy gold colour. I used the same colour for inner 1/4th of the eyelid.this is our first colour.
Step 4: Now take a green eyeshadow and place it next to the light colour. This is our second colour (make sure it is shimmery.. the shimmer in this middle colour will catch the light and gives some dimension and a beautiful pop to your eyes) do not fill the entire lid with this colour. Just place it in the middle of your eyelid..leave the outer 1/4th of the lid for another colour. Blend this green colour in to that gold one by patting slightly where the two colours meet.
Step 5: Now take a dark or medium brown colour depending on how dark you like your crease to be. Since there is so much shimmer going on with the other colours it is best to use a matte colour to tone down the shimmer and also the brightness. But my bad luck.. I don’t have any matte brown colour..so I used a shimmery one. Place this colour on the outer 1/4th of the lid. Blend this with the green colour by slightly patting where these two colous meet.
Step 6: Now take a little bit of that same brown colour and apply it in to the crease. I took it all the way up to the inner part of the crease and blended it all the way up to the brow (only on the inner half) because I have a wierd nose which photographs so fat no matter how less the space in between my brows is. So this helps with that a li’l bit. avoid this if you have very close set eyes and brows.
On the outer half I blended it slightly above the crease with the highlight colour. I wanted some more colour ..so I took a medium pinky purple colour and place it right above that brown crease colour (not in the crease but above it) and blended it well with both the brown and highlight colour. This step is completely optional.you can skip it if you don’t want to do it.
Follow the same colour scheme on the lower lash line and place some highlight color in the inner corner.now the eyeshadow part is complete and so far it should look like this:
Step 7: Finish off with thick line of black liquid liner on the upper lashline, curl your lashes, apply two or three coats of mascara and full of black kohl or liner on the lower as well as upper water line. These things will bind the look together and gives a nice finished look. Putting kohl/liner/kajal on the upper water line gives the illusion of thicker lashes. Here is our finished eye look.
Step 8: For cheeks I used a pink blush and for lips I used a neutral brown toned pink lipstick and topped it off with a nude rosey lip gloss..I have a round face and so to make it look slimmer I highlighted the apples of my cheeks, middle of the forehead, bridge of the nose, cupids bow and middle of the chin with “oriflame absolute concealer for eyes” in gold and contoured the out side of my face and cheeks with a foundation and powder that are 2-3 shades darker than my skintone (not really showing up in these pics though.). tadaaa…here is our finished look. (please ignore the clothes in the background)
