Green Tea Face Scrub: Do It Yourself
Hello Beauties,

We all know how good green tea is for our health. It tastes a bit bitter, but once you get the hang of it, you start liking it. Same is the case with me, now I am hooked to green tea. Recently, I was looking for a good facial scrub for myself. I saw one which had green tea extract in it. It has good reviews online, but sadly that product is not available in India. So, I thought I should make my own green tea scrub. I have read some recipes of green tea face mask before and I have tried some too. So, finally I gathered all the ingredients and made my own green tea face scrub. Please read on to find how to make it.
Ingredients:

- 1 spoon full of green tea, or 2 green tea bags.
- 3 spoons of sugar.
- 1/3 cup of boiling water.
- Clean bowl and a spoon
Procedure:
Step 1:
Gather all the ingredients. Now, in a cup or glass, put the tea leaves or the tea bag and pour the hot water in it and let it brew. Let the green tea be in the water until it completely cools down, this will let the tea get brewed perfectly.
Step 2:
After 30 minutes to 1 hour, when the water cools down completely, take out the tea bags and keep the green tea concentrate aside.
Step 3:
In the clean bowl, add 2 spoons of sugar and then add 3 spoons of green tea concentrate in it, mix it with a spoon. As water is not hot, it won’t be able to dissolve all the sugar.
Step 4:
Now, add the remaining one spoon of sugar and mix. You can increase the amount of green tea liquid or sugar to get the desired consistency, but the resulting solution should not be all liquid, sugar particles should be there.
Step 5:
Now, your green tea facial scrub is ready. Transfer it in an air tight container to keep some for future. Then, apply it on your face in a circular motion using your fingers or a cotton pad. I suggest using cotton pad as the tea liquid will get absorbed in the pad and you will be able to apply it better. Lightly scrub for 2 minutes, then wash your face with warm water.
That’s all you need to do to get a soft clean face. Also, one can add some extra ingredients in the scrub as per their need. You can add honey for moisturization, or lemon if you have very oily skin; however, I liked my scrub as it is.
Few Tips:
-
- Do not throw the used teabags. Once cool, it can be used as eye pack, will help reduce dark circles.
- I opened the used tea bag and found that the tea leaves inside were very small and soft, but good enough to gently exfoliate skin. So, after drinking your green tea, you can use the used tea leaves as a face mask. Once cool, just apply this on your face and leave for 5 minutes. After that massage in circular motion to get gentle exfoliation and then wash off with cold water. I have tried it and the results are amazing.
Do try this and let me know how it worked for you. Till then, take care and stay beautiful 😀
