This review will be on Gucci Magnetic Color Shadow Duo in the shade “030 Azalea.” I have previously reviewed two other shades from this range, namely – “Sunset” and “Amaretto” on IMBB.

My Experience with Gucci Eye 030 Azalea Magnetic Color Shadow Duo:

Packaging: I am super impressed with how sophisticated and beautiful the packaging is! It comes in a glossy black compact case with the double G gold Gucci logo and a black velvet pouch. The magnetic closure of the compact adds to the whole luxury appeal. It also comes with two applicators – one sponge tip and the other one, a flat brush. The bristles are very soft and not scratchy, but since I prefer using my own brushes to apply shadows, I hardly reach for these, though they are good to have on hand.

Texture: The eyeshadows in this particular duo are very smooth and silky to touch, not chalky or powdery at all. There is no grittiness. The shimmer in the shadow is very fine. These qualities were good enough for me to enjoy working with them, but they are not the most amazing, “blow my socks off” kind that I have used in the past (I am referring to the Natasha Denona shimmery shades).

Pigmentation and Blend-ability: Pigmentation of both the shades in this duo is wonderful. I have no problem applying them and building them up to the intensity I like. They are also easy to blend without being patchy.

Shade: I do love the color combination in this particular duo. There is a pale soft gold which looks beautiful on the lid. The pigmentation is okay, has to be built up in 2-3 layers to get the most intensity. It has a soft metallic sheen which makes it also daytime appropriate. The purple shade is my favorite out of the two. It has a very unique duochrome look and a satin finish. The pigmentation of this shade is excellent. It applies and blends effortlessly. Both the shades work wonderfully with each other and the resultant look with just two of these shades in hand turns out to look so much more complex. These shades are also perfect for a party or wedding.

Staying Power: I do find these shadows to work better over a primer than on bare lids. They wear pretty well for 8 hours with very minimal creasing and fading.

Overall, this duo is my second favorite out of the Gucci duos that I own (Azalea, Amaretto and Sunset), only second to “Sunset,” which takes the top spot only because I love the colors in that pan so much. Performance wise, both the duos are on a similar level, but having said that, I still wouldn’t consider this one a must-have, majorly because of the price at which there are numerous other eyeshadow palettes in the market which offer more than just two shades of equal or better quality stuff. But if you would like to splurge on an eyeshadow palette for creating effortlessly beautiful looks with the help of universally-flattering colors, I would recommend this product.

Good pigmentation, but you need to build it up and best when used on top of a primer.
Little to no fallout.
