Hi Everyone,

Today I am reviewing an amazing under eye highlighter. And something that adds light to your under eye area and gives that fresh lifted look to under eyes.

Claims : Like a magic wand, the Guerlain illuminator pen instantly erases dark areas and signs of ageing. Enriched with the Precious Rejuvenating Complex and lit up with Éclat d’Or Pigments, Precious Light reveals a revived and natural complexion. Day after day, it gives the skin a new youthful glow.

In a few strokes of the brush, dark areas are illuminated. The face looks uplifted and rested. It glows with light and vitality. Signs of fatigue are diminished and the eye contour seems relaxed. The complexion glows with a rejuvenating halo, enhanced with subtle golden glimmers.

Precious Light can be applied before or after make-up:

  • to light up dark areas: apply to the sides of the nose and the dip of the chin

My Experience with Guerlain Precious Rejuvenating Illuminator :

I am mostly not a fan of under eye illuminators. Most of them have not worked for me. In fact I am not a huge fan of the YSL Touche Eclat as well. But this one from Guerlain came as such a lovely and pleasant surprise.

It is available in 3 shades – light, medium and dark. The one I use is the light shade. The medium is the exact match to my skin tone and the darker one is slightly darker. The shade I use is 00 Rose Enlumineur. It is a pink based color (check swatch).

This illuminator comes packed in a beautiful gold pen style case. There is a brush attached at the top. And it is a twist up-style pen. So you when you twist the bottom part of the pen, the product comes out. The brush is really soft and gentle on the under eye area. I clean the brush every now and then with a makeup brush cleanser.

The texture of the illuminator is very creamy and smooth. But it’s the most amazing kind of creamy.it’s emollient enough to blend easily on skin and then it sets. And when it sets, it sets for all day long without moving or  settling in fine lines underneath the eyes. Also, it does not dry out the under eye area at all. The color I use is such that it does not look whitish but adds enough light to the under eyes that gives a lifted and fresh look. Also, the consistency is not thick at all. It is pretty much on the thin side and it spreads easily without looking heavy or cakey.

The illuminator is not shimmery at all and that makes it such a great product for day time wear.

The coverage is medium. How is use is that I apply corrector and then I use the illuminator on top. You have to use it on top of your concealer, otherwise it might look a bit ashy.

This is one of the nicest cheat products I have come across for those tired looking days. Boy, it makes you look fresh and awake in seconds. 🙂

Overall, pure love. A MUST HAVE! 🙂

I guess only availability would be the issue. Guerlain products are available at Sephora India. But if you can get hold of it, you must. 🙂

I tried taking close eye shots but they were not doing justice to how the product looks. I went through some of my previous pictures to check where its effect is visibly showing and found this pic below. You’d notice how bright my under eye looks in this pic. I have used this Guerlain highlighter. 🙂
