Guerlain Rouge Automatique Lipstick 143 Nahema, 144 Insolence Review, Photos, Swatch
Claims : Automatically Fashionable. As Coveted as an It-bag. As Precious as a gem. As Glamorous as stilettos. Rouge Automatique is the moisturising and long-lasting “it lipstick”. It combines the radiance of a crystal pigment, the luminosity of colours and a fine, sensual texture. It glides over the lips like a second skin.
Smoothed, moisturised lips are adorned with pure, luminous and deliciously sheer colours.
Rouge Automatique comes in a bouquet of 25 absolutely modern, playful pop shades. As a homage to the history of Guerlain fragrances, each shade bears the name of a cult creation of the house.
Inspired by the legendary Rouge Automatique from 1936, it is nestled in a jewel case, a golden sheath that closes with one flick.
Price : US $36.00 / INR 2100 approx
My Experience :
I bought these lipsticks in a pack of two from the airport. Both the colors are to die for and there was no reason I could leave these lipsticks behind. 😀 I was expecting to be blown away by these lipsticks. Unfortunately, I was not.
The packaging is gorgeous golden and pretty much a jewel looking case. There is a button given on the side that slides up and the lipstick comes out. Actually, see this little video of the lipsticks I posted on my instagram HERE. They are quite unique and hassle free. No cover nothing. Just slide it up and use the lipstick. BUT. I always get this feeling that the lipstick would break. As I have used more of these, I have started to enjoy the packaging. My friend was at home and she said “why am I seeing so many lighters in your home suddenly. Have you started smoking? ” 😛 She thought these were the fancy lighters I have purchased. 😛
Seeing the colors of the lipsticks, I was expecting a full on blown pigmentation. But these lipsticks are opaque balmy kind of lipsticks so you do get full coverage but it’s not like hot pop of color as you’d expect your bullet to deliver. Initially I was not enjoying the colors as well UNTIL one day I decided to wear these lipsticks on top of a neutral lip liner and OMG!! I lovveeeee them now. :)) You know how sometimes we are too quick to judge… 🙂
So these were my looong first impressions. Coming to the shades and how they fared. 🙂
These lipsticks :
- go on smoothly on lips without settling on your fine lines. They feel very moisturising and hydrating on lips.
- the pigmentation is like an opaque lip balm. You don’t need to apply a lip balm underneath these.
- look soft glossy on lips.
- do not bleed or smudge
- stay for good 4 + hours on me and leave a beautiful soft stain behind for a couple of more hours.
- are buildable without getting cakey.
- have a lovely mild fragrance.
Quick tips :
- don’t open the lipstick too much.
- don’t wear it on top of a lip balm. The pigmentation wouldn’t come too well on lips .
- if you want a full pop of color, wear a lip liner underneath.
Rating : 4.8/5
In the pics below, I have worn the lipsticks directly on the lips without any lip balm underneath.
144 Insolence : It’s a beautiful bright coraly pink and have a very fine golden micro shimmer. I mean you’d have to stare to see the shimmer. 😛
143 Nanema : a very pretty orangey coral.
