Guinot Pure Balance Cream

Hello Ladies!

Gosh! We have reached Wednesday already, yes it is midweek already and I am desperately anticipating the weekend yet again. I feel those are the only 2 days where I can actually unwind and work at a slow pace. Trust me my schedule has started to take a massive toll on me and it only is going to get worse. I wish I had a week off! Someone please hear me. How is your week going? Hope it is not as bad as mine! Anyway, enough of me moping around and complaining. I will be reviewing for you a face cream today and it is by a brand called Guinot.

My Experience with Guinot Pure Balance Cream

I purchased this cream at my local salon which only stocks Elemis and Guinot products, the therapist actually had suggested this to my sister for her breakouts, but I decided to give it a go after seeing results on my sisters face. Okay, so my sister has combination skin and is facing acne caused by hormonal imbalance as she is 18, whereas I have sensitive skin and I still do face hormonal imbalances despite being 21. But Hey! I thought, this targets the acne, little did I know or rather was not even informed by the therapist that it might not work for my skin type. Despite the product claim suggesting, that it would work for oily skin beauties, it did not mention anything about sensitive skins. And honestly, that is not a surprise as most products never mention these sort of things, and you end up spending so much hoping it might work for you, but more often than never, they hardly do the job desired.

Anyway, the packaging of this cream is an inverted white squeeze bottle, with red detailing and golden font. It also has a flip cap, which makes it so hygienic Ah! I absolutely love their packaging, because it is so luxurious and lush. The cream itself is white in colour and is of a pretty thick consistency. It has a very strong botanical fragrance and yes it is very overpowering ,having said that I actually enjoyed the fragrance, it was a bit like Clarins.

Right, so if I am honest with you, the cream actually sat on my face, rather than getting absorbed. I had to force it into my skin. However, let me tell you this, it was absorbed by my sisters skin very easily. Weird right? I thought it was weird too, maybe there is something wrong with my skin. I knew instantly that this one is going to create issues for my skin and irritation would soon prevail. I am not going to lie, but my skin did feel pretty well moisturised and hydrated post utilising this, which was great. But the fact that I started facing a few breakouts on my jawline, and I very rarely face that issue now that I am in my 20’s completely put me off with this product. Having said that, it works wonderfully on my sisters skin, it goes on to even absorb the excess oil on her face. Her acne has calmed down massively and she says that it does not clog her pores or result in any breakouts.

Overall, I honestly feel as though this cream really would work person to person. I would not even say it depends on the skin type. But sensitive skin ladies I would suggest stay afar, lets make a group and sit in the corner.. I hear you!
