H2O+ Natural Spring Shampoo Review

H2O+ Natural Spring Shampoo Review

The blogger in me has finally awakened, and here I am with my first article on IMBB! I’ve always been finicky about hair care products. Ever since one of my friends suggested I try H2O hair care products, I have been dying to use them. Finally after a lot of research, I grabbed their Natural Spring Shampoo.
(PS: Apparently they have discontinued “Sea Salt Replenishing Shampoo”; at least that’s what the SA told me).

H2O Natural Spring Shampoo

Price: Rs 750 (I got a 10% discount)

Quantity: 250 mL

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide MEA, Acrylates Copolymer, Divinyldimethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol,
Fragrance (Parfum), Polyquaternium-10, C12-13 Pareth-23, C12-13 Pareth-3, Mica (CI77019), Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Tocopheryl Acetate, Benzophenone-4,
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Citric Acid, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Geraniol, Propylene Glycol, Citronellol, Hydroxycitronellal, Methylisothiazolinone, Algae Extract, Nasturtium Officinale Extract, Cetraria Islandica Extract, Blue 1 (CI 42090), Yellow 10 (CI 47005)
(had a tough time typing these!)

What the product claims: An extra-gentle daily shampoo fortified with watercress, Iceland moss and seaweed to leave hair clean and conditioned (also contains Provitamin B and aloe vera).
Directions for use: Apply to wet hair and massage into lather. Rinse well. Follow with H2O plus hair conditioner.

My experience:

The shampoo is neither too thick nor too runny, and is light blue in colour. It is more crème-like in consistency rather than gel-like (personally I prefer crème-based shampoos). After washing my hair with the shampoo, I applied TBS Rainforest conditioner. My hair felt very clean and smooth. It had a soft feel to it, and was a reminder for a couple of days that I had used a different shampoo! (I was using TBS Rainforest Shine before this). It was definitely different from the effect that the TBS shampoo gave me. And it added so much volume to my hair! I was quite surprised. For someone who does not have a thick mane, this shampoo is definitely a blessing. It makes the hair manageable and you can easily comb through, with hair fall being negligible. However, it does not give me the kind of shine that TBS Rainforest Shine imparts. The shine is minimal, and not very evident. I am okay with this since, unlike TBS Rainforest Shine, this one does not claim to add shine. And I love the way it smells. It’s a bit hard to describe the smell – it smells like flowers – fresh, somewhat like champa. Even if you do not apply oil to your hair, the after-effects of the wash are almost the same. Many a times I do not apply conditioner, and my hair does not feel dry at all (I have a dry scalp). I will highly recommend this for people with fine, dry hair. I have not tried their conditioner yet, though I am super tempted to do that, and would post a review of it soon!

Swatch

Pros:
1. Makes the hair super soft and squeaky clean
2. The shampoo is very gentle, and it does not lather too much
3. Transparent bottle lets you see how much shampoo is left
4. Smells great
5. Does not give a drying effect on the hair, even without the conditioner
6. Hair fall after the wash is negligible

Cons:
1. Contains SLS
2. Might not be suitable for those with thick hair, as it adds volume
3. Expensive
4. May be not a good option for people with oily scalp

Rating: 4.5/5 (-0.5 for lesser shine)

Would I buy this shampoo again? Yes!

  1. would love to try this at some point. it looks so good + a good review too..very tempting. But right now i am still reeling in some impulsive purchase i made on Urban Touch 🙂

  2. hihihi champa smelling shampoo. 😛 😛 bt i loved the color. I have sort of figured out the shampoos that work for me so i am not quite experimental with my hair care products. But i want to try out their body care line. 🙂
