It’s only March and Hyderabad summers are driving me crazy. I have no idea what to expect in May and June. To get myself ready to combat the summer heat, I went on a search for a cleanser that would give me a perfect wash without stripping the skin of all its natural oils and also regulating the output of my sebaceous glands. I always wanted to visit Kathiawar Stores but could not as it is very far from where I stay. I did a small jig *happydance* when I spotted their branch in Jubilee hills by accident. I was happy to fulfil both – my dream of going to Kathiawar and my search for a good cleanser in a single go. Read on to find what my current HG cleanser does…….
An oil-free, water-based, daily cleanser formulated to foam away excess oil and pore clogging debris. Sea Mineral Complex delivers shine-neutralizing marine algae and olive tree leaf extract to help prevent the formation of excess surface shine for a lasting, matte complexion.
• Removes impurities without stripping away surface moisture.
• Helps clear pores to help minimize potential breakout.
• Leaves a soft, clean, matte complexion.
Olive Leaf Extract – Recognized for its medicinal properties in Egypt and throughout the Mediterranean for centuries, olive leaf is a natural antiseptic and astringent, eliminating breakout-causing bacteria from deep within pores.
Salicylic Acid – An antimicrobial (BHA) derived from willow bark that exfoliates dead skin and works to thin excess surface oil.
Oil-Controlling Marine Blend – A dynamic composition of algae that neutralizes oil prone skin while delivering essential moisture.
Dulse – Reddish-purple leaves that sprawl along the north Atlantic coast; naturally hydrates the skin while absorbing excess surface oil
Gigartina – Red fan-like spores that thrive in brisk marine waters near Ireland and Scotland; rich in trace minerals known to help to regulate oil production
Neptune Kelp – Golden brown algae that form towering deep-sea canopies near New Zealand; helps decrease skin’s oil output by calming overactive sebaceous glands

The mousse comes in a green coloured thick plastic can with a pump dispenser. A cloud of calmness settles around me every time I see this bottle. I think the feeling is because of the colour green 😛 . The bottle is very sturdy but the size is not very convenient for travelling unless you’re a person who can spare a lot of space for skincare & makeup in their luggage. One more drawback is that the bottle is not transparent and you would not be able to tell how much product is still left for use.
My Experience with H2o Plus Sea Clear Mattifying Cleansing Mousse:
To be honest, I did not know what to expect when I read the name of this cleanser on the counter.”Mousse” reminded me only of yummy chocolate mousse *drool* . So when I saw some foamy substance out of the can I was kind of disappointed. I did not feel like using it on my face and thought that it would really work as a great hand wash 😛 . But given its price and my idea of hand wash *nonono* (what on earth was I thinking!!). I started using the cleanser without expecting much. My intention was only to finish the bottle as soon as possible and check out some other cleanser. So initially I used more product than necessary and my skin felt dry and stretchy after use. I finally gave up the torture of my poor skin just because I did not like the look of the product. I switched to using just one pump and it gave enough lather to cleanse the entire face and neck. The smell is very pleasant – more like synthesized jasmine. Some people might not like it but I have no problem .As the foam is very light and airy you might feel that a pump is not sufficient but believe me it is more than enough.
Do not make the same mistake I made and know that one pump did magic to my skin. I use this in the morning and in the evening. It is very gentle on skin and completely removes all the oil, dirt and grime after a long day outside. My skin is squeaky clean and feels very soft to touch after use. It controls oil for up to 3 hours when used alone *happydance* and if followed up with a mattifying moisture, my skin remains oil-free for 5- 6 hours *oye balle* with only a slight oily T-zone. This mousse cannot be used to remove any makeup. So on days when I wear makeup, I follow-up with this wash after I remove all my makeup. I did not experience any break-outs and my oil factories seem to be in check with regular use. *pompom* I am really happy to see some product living up to its name – the mouse is sure mattifying. *jai ho* (It should be as all the key elements are used for the same purpose- to give an oil free look)
Pros of H2o Plus Sea Clear Mattifying Cleansing Mousse:
• Very gentle on skin
• Cleanses without drying the skin(If you use the right amount)
• Gives good Lather
• No oily residue left behind

Cons of H2o Plus Sea Clear Mattifying Cleansing Mousse:
• Non-transparent packaging makes it difficult to know when the product finishes
IMBB Rating: 4 /5
