Hair Removal : Remedies For Bumps After Waxing
Hello Ladies,
Hope you all are doing fantastic! I did an article on facial hair HERE yesterday, and there were a lot of queries in regards to waxing and threading and the post effects of the same. I have been waxing my facial hair since a period now, and I have had my initial bad times with it, I have faced rashes, pimples and all that jazz that comes along waxing. But with time I have learnt to deal with them in my own ways and here am I with some of the tried and tested remedies for bumps after waxing. Let’s make it general, not just bumps, but also rashes and pimples and acne post waxing and let’s just not limit it to facial waxing or facial hair, you possibly face rashes and post waxing issues anywhere on your body. So this is quiet a general article.
First and fore mostly, I have had acne issues during teenage, weren’t worse but there were very much THERE. So my first venture in facial waxing wasn’t at all FUN and successful. I got even worst acne and rashes at my jawline, which is and was the FAVORITE SPOT for the acne to rise!
So even when I used to get my facial hair waxed, this area would be the worst affected. So after some rough experiences, I turned a head up and thought on ways how this could be combated. First and fore mostly, moisturizing the skin is very essential. Do not moisturize it just before waxing , do it some hours before and make sure it is intensive. Do it in the morning if you are going to get your hair waxed in the afternoon, hours before the process to be precise.
This has always worked for me, this reduced the intensity of the acne and bumps on my skin.
The next best thing happened to me when I asked the beautician to apply ice before and after waxing. I used to do it for about an hour after getting back home too.
This worked like magic for me, it not only helped the acne and its intensity reduce, but it also simplified the waxing process for me. It was less painful and the rashes and other jazz reduced substantially after this, so ICE it is. Note this tip down, and if it doesn’t work, come to Dubai for refund. 😛
If you are facing bumps and rashes on your body as well, wear loose fitted clothes post waxing. This reduces fiction and thus reduces the occurrence of bumps and rashes too. Strictly avoid jeans post waxing.
Avoid waxing irritated or sun burnt skin. Even heavily acne prone skin should be avoided from such procedures. STRICTLY. You would only worsen the situation.
Use antibacterial soap and creams atleast for the first day after wax. This surely makes a difference and keeps your skin hygienic.
Pregnancy and menstruation can also cause temporary rashes and bumps post wax. So try and figure out suitable alternatives for the same.
Accutane and Retin A users should avoid waxing in my honest opinion and experience.
One of the MOST important things, do not exfoliate or scrub your skin immediately before or after waxing. This just worsens the affect of waxing on the skin. Also avoid hot showers immediately after wax or threading.
Apply aloe vera gel on waxed skin.
Do not forget sunscreen after waxing. This is very IMPORTANT.
Avoid astringent and opt for tea tree oil post procedure. Avoid work out or anything that involves sweating for a few hours also stay in cool temperatures.
These are few tips and tricks to avoid major skin mishaps caused due to hair removal. Hope you liked them!!Do let me know what you do to avoid bumps and rashes. Also now, I absolutely have no problems post these procedures. My skin is happy and healthy after a lot of efforts.

I have a different problem after waxing, especially on my legs. When the hair start to grow from the follicle, I get in-grown hair, and that leads to too much of itching, till they grow to a longer length. Believe me I feel like scratching the whole day……..any help to counter this issue ?
I find scrubbing a bit helpful, what say?
ummm..thats a very ccommmmon problem… 🙂 dont fright!!
i advice u to moisturize heavily before and after waxing…..you can also try oil massages…..and this would help you get rid of the itching.. 🙂
