Hanae Mori Butterfly Eau De Parfum Review

IMBB Sponsored Product Review

Hello Beauties,

I am going very busy from the last one month, office work and daily chores is driving me insane and I am dying for a break. However, finally my leave is approved and I am going to visit my parents and my parents in law at the end of this month and I am super excited about it 🙂 Coming to today’s review, this is my pick from December’s IMBB Sponsored product list. As designer perfumes are timeless, so I decided to pick a perfume from the list , and this time, I went for Hanae Mori Butterfly EDP. Frankly speaking, before seeing this product in Sponsored products list, I was not aware about this perfume. Reason being it’s not easily available in India and we Bangaloreans are still deprived of Sephora 😛 So, coming to the perfume, this has been designed by the famous Japanese Designer Hanae Mori. While reading about her, I came to know that she is the only Japanese women to present her collection on runways of Paris and NY. Because of all her achievements, she is widely regarded as an icon of liberated women.  It seems that she has been fascinated by butterflies a lot and that reflects in her creations too. Hanae Mori Butterfly perfume range is one of them, it has perfume Oil, EDP, EDT and perfumed lotions and creams. I have been lucky enough to try my hands on Hanae Mori Butterfly EDP and all thanks goes to IMBB for that.

My Experience with Hanae Mori Butterfly Eau De Parfum:

I was not very sure about what to expect from this perfume, but after spending so much money, I was just praying that it meets my taste and I must say I am not disappointed at all. To describe this scent in three words, it’s a “romantic floral scent.” When applied, it feels like a sweet fruity smell and within 10 minutes, the sweetness reduces a bit and the floral scent takes over. I don’t see vanilla anywhere in the mentioned notes for this fragrance, but I always get a feel of vanilla scent in it when it’s on my skin. The scent feels like a perfect blend of sweetness+ fruity and flowery smell, a chic and mood-lifting smell. If talking about the wearability, it is one of those smells that can be worn any time of the day on any occasion.

Hanae Mori Butterfly Eau De Parfum 3

On staying power also, it scores very well.  I apply 3-4 sprays of it in the morning and the smell lingers on me almost 9-10 hours and sometimes throughout the day (when not much outdoor activity). Perfume also has good sillage. It is not so strong that everyone in the lift will notice your smell even after you leave, but one can notice it if standing with you in the queue. However, after 6 hours, one needs to hug you to feel this fragrance.  Another very interesting thing about this fragrance is that this is a linear fragrance. This means it does not dry down, the perfume smells same even hours after application as it smells at the time of application. This is something very rare and special.

Hanae Mori Butterfly Eau De Parfum 5

Coming to the packaging, it comes in white box with blue butterflies on it. The bottle is plain to look at, but the cap comes with a twist. The cap is sculpted in the shape of closed wings of a butterfly. The sweet flowery smell of this perfume indeed makes every women feel like a butterfly, beautiful and feminine.

  1. LOVE the butterflies on your nails JOMOL!!!! *puchhi* *puchhi* *puchhi*

Sounds like a winner – but don’t you think that at this price point the bottle should be more dramatic? I know its the product which counts but when it comes to perfumes, bottles are collector’s items, no?

Thanks for the review – I really need to get over my fear and do some perfume reviews!! Don’t know how…any tips?

    1. Hey KK actually those are my nails *nails* and *thankyou*

totally second you kk that the bottle is bit boring to look at but the cap is sculpted like a butterfly which is something to look for…. *haan ji*

And about perfume reviews, I am not the best person for this still I feel use it at differnt diffenet condtion to get a real hack of it… that gives more idea about wearability of perfume and try to sniff it again and again at diffent times after application to diffrenciate notes 😀
      Hope that helps 🙂
