Happy Vishu To All :)

HAPPY VISHU TO ALL πŸ™‚

Happy Vishu to All
Vishu marks the beginning of New Year in Kerala. It is similar to Bisakhi or Bihu.
Keralites celebrate Vishu by arranging Vishukani (kani is the first thing to be seen after waking up in the morning). Vishukani consists of arranging God (basically Sri Krishna) with flowers and keeping auspicious articles like money, gold, new clothes, raw rice, fruits, coconut, golden cucumber etc in front if the God.

The older member of the family wakes up in the morning, lights Diya and calls one by one to see the kani. Later on Vishu Kayneetam ( my favorite part) is distributed. Vishu Kayneetam is the custom where the elder members give money to younger ones.
Crackers are bursted early morning to celebrate and welcome the New Year.
Later on Vishu Sadya (feast) is made.
Happy Vishu to All
Feast consists of all the traditional dishes of Kerala arranged in Plantain leaf.

Once AGAIN WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY VISHU AND BISAKHI..

Love ya all…
Sruthi.
