I have “A fatal attraction to cuteness” as it says on the box of the Harajuku Lovers Baby perfume. I like pretty things, and I also like cute little objects. On a whim, I got the Harajuku Lovers Baby perfume after spotting the five bottles from the collection. They looked like small wooden, painted dolls.
Product description
One bat of her lashes and Baby has all the boys in the palm of her hand! Pretty in pink, Baby steps out in a short baby doll dress and sweet Mary Janes. Her scent is a powdery floral with notes of white rose, orange flower, and white musk.
I adore her curly, bumpy hair. With such sweet packaging, I admit I didn’t pay much attention to the scents. I briefly sprayed each of the five scents in the Harajuku Lovers fragrance line and quickly decided on Baby, which I chose based more on the look of the doll rather than the fragrance calling out to me more than the others.
The cute doll is the cap of the perfume, and the little round platform she stands on contains the fragrance. What I have is the 30ml bottle, shown in the photo above. The doll is actually not made of wood, but of molded plastic, and she is pretty sturdy and lightweight. The painted details are dainty and lovely, and don’t rub off easily. My little girl loves playing with her!
Baby is advertised as having a powdery musk scent. The notes for the fragrance are as follows:
Top notes- Bergamot, Freesia, White Rose.
Middle notes- Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Tiare Flower.
Base notes- White musk, Soft woods, Vanilla, Heliotrope, Violet.
Baby, to me, is a combination of powdery, sweet, and soapy. I smell the freesia when I’ve just sprayed it on my skin, and it smells nice and soft. The florals that make up the middle notes give sweetness to the fragrance, and as it dries on my skin, the sweet scent is increased and prolonged with vanilla. It becomes powdery too, and still retains its clean white musk smell.
Harajuku Lovers Baby does remind me of a baby product—Johnson and Johnson’s Head To Toe Body Wash, but with the addition of florals, and it has a stronger scent, of course. It’s like a perfume concentrate of the J&J Body Wash. It does smell clean and powdery, but it’s not a scent I’d use on a baby. It’s sweet and has a bit of a flirty vibe to it, and is really more appropriate for a pre-teen. It has good lasting power on me, staying for six hours or so.
Among the Harajuku Lovers scents, I remember Baby being the one that, back then, I found to smell the ‘safest’ and perhaps the lightest. I bought it when I wasn’t into perfume yet, and I went with the scent that I knew wouldn’t overwhelm me. Now that I’ve become much more interested in perfume and have tried out other fragrances, I find that it underwhelms me. It doesn’t smell bad at all! But it doesn’t smell unique or memorable either. I still keep it though, for the adorable bottle.
For those who like to collect products in cutesy packaging and aren’t so picky about scents, or for those seeking simple, fun girly fragrances, this line is worth checking out. New designs for each scent have been released, where the dolls are dressed in different outfits suited for each season of the year. They’re also available in solid perfume form.

This is very girly…. but it´s one of a kind :waytogo:
I love concepts which are special in their own way :waytogo:
Fresia  is a beautiful scent but I am no fan of vanilla (except of true vanilla in natural cosmetics scents, smells comp. different than the stuff you usually get as vanilla-based scents), so I am not sure if I should try this Baby scent ?:)
Do they have a woody one in the collection? And how much is one bottle? 😀
Thank you Tatjana! :)) :))
This line of perfumes really do have a special kind of packaging, pretty and girly. 🙂
If you like freesia, I think do give this one a try. It’s got that light, clean, soft quality of freesia, although it doesn’t smell totally of it. I don’t find it to be a heavily sweet, foody vanilla. 🙂
Unfortunately they don’t have a woody one…they have Lil’ Angel – fruity floral, Music – delicate floral, Love- sensuous floral, and G, which you probably won’t like, is a tropical gourmand (the doll for this one is superrr cute but the scent is quite sweet and vanillic!). The 30ml bottle cost $45 or around Rs. 2035. 🙂 :))
