If there’s one makeup product that I get reminded of when I hear the song “Hum bane, tum bane, ek dooje ke liye”, it is hands down – lipstick!! I know that’s a super dramatic start to a lipstick review, but I seriously cannot explain how much I enjoy wearing lipsticks on a daily basis. I declutter my makeup stash every 6 months, but I just can’t part myself with my darling babies – lipsticks! Come on, don’t tell me that I am the only one. I am sure our IMBB family has a lot of lipstick lovers like me. So, let me introduce you to another lipstick from the Hard Candy line which is Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipstick in Prowler.

My Experience with Hard Candy 1051 Prowler Fierce Effects Lipstick:

Frankly enough, when I bought this lipstick I did not know the meaning of ‘prowler.’ So I searched the meaning of this word on Google and guess what it said? Prowler means, ‘to rove or go about stealthily, as in search of prey, something to steal, etc.’ Seriously?? But if you look at the shade of this lipstick it justifies why it has been named prowler.

Packaging: The packaging of this lippie is absolutely fancy with a matte black body and shiny silver dots on the cap that look like diamonds. The top of the cover is colour coded to the lipstick bullet. The lipstick bullet swirls up effortlessly and does not stick to the tube itself. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the lipstick. The best thing is that the lipstick cap shuts with a secure click sound. All in all very sturdy and super attractive packaging.

Colour: Speaking of the colour of this lipstick, all I can say is that it is a ferocious vampy dark blood red shade with brownish undertones. It’s just that perfect dark vampy shade that Youtubers flaunt as their fall season staple colour. This lipstick shade is really not everyone’s cup of tea, but I would still say that this particular shade is for vampy lipstick lovers. You sure need to have some courage and confidence to pull off this shade. This is one of a kind shade in my lipstick collection of over 400 lipsticks! Not bragging, but just to give you an idea that I am not much inclined to shades like this.

Texture: This lipstick has a very smooth and creamy texture and applies like butter on the lips which is splendid. The texture is not as dry and patchy at all. In fact it feels comparatively quite comfortable on the lips. But I would suggest beauties with extremely dry chapped lips (like me) to apply a lip balm prior to this lipstick so that there’s no tugging or pulling. This lipstick does not contain any shimmers. Thank goodness!! I totally despise lipsticks with a frost finish or shimmers.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation of this Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipstick in Prowler is unbelievably awesome! One swipe of this lippie gives considerable amount of coverage. The best thing about this lipstick is that it is buildable without getting patchy or feeling heavy. You can apply it with a light hand for that beautiful flush or go for a full on coverage if you please. Since it is a creamy formulation, it does transfer a bit, but that’s totally ok. Also ladies with pigmented lips can rejoice as this lipstick covers pigmented lips really well. Now that’s really remarkable, isn’t it?

Longevity: I was a firm believer that only matte lipsticks are long-lasting. But this baby has changed my perception totally. In spite of its very creamy-ish glossy finish, it lasts on the lips for at least 5 to 6 hours with a little bit of snacks and beverages. It also leaves a tint behind which I really enjoy. So impressive!!

Quality: The overall quality of the Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipsticks is astounding. It is no less than any high end lipsticks. I mean, if Gucci, MAC or Shiseido came up with the same formulation of the lipstick, I would not be astonished. People would love it very much and pay more than thrice the amount for the same thing. All in all, I am totally satisfied with this lipstick.

I totally recommend this line of lipstick by Hard Candy to everyone. If you have never tried Hard Candy lipsticks before, please do it now. This brand needs a lot more recognition and love than what it receives. I am not sure if everyone is going to like this shade, but it’s no harm experimenting right? You can pick up this affordable purple lipstick and try it out for the colour. I totally love it and shall sure repurchase it if I ever run out of it.
