Hard Candy has sure been one of my most-used makeup brands from the drugstore after L’Oreal. As much as I like my jet black eyeliners, I do believe some sparkle can add a lot of oomph and glamour to eye makeup. So, when I came across this Hard Candy Stay In Line 12 Hr Mechanical Gel Eyeliner in Black Metallic, I picked it up immediately. So, let’s find out if this baby is a hit or a dud:

My Experience with Hard Candy Black Metallic Stay In Line 12 Hr Mechanical Gel Eyeliner:
Packaging: This eye pencil comes in a convenient mechanical twist-up packaging. The sleek and slim look of this pencil is easy to use and travel friendly. It also comes with an outer packaging that has all the details of the product mentioned on it.
The body of the eye pencil is color coded to the shade of the eyeliner containing shimmers which look so pretty. There is no sharpening involved, so no product wastage! All in all, the packaging is simple and practical.
Texture: This liner has a soft texture that glides smoothly along the lash line. I would not say this has the best texture ever, but it’s not bad by any means. When applying on the lower lash line (not lower waterline), it does tug a little and needs some effort and patience to get an even colour payoff. I usually don’t use this on the waterline since the shimmers get into my eyes and irritate them.
Color and Pigmentation: The pigmentation does not have a dense super color pay-off, but it can be built to a good intensity. The color is really nice and unique though. It’s a black color with a bunch of shimmers which looks so gorgeous and glamorous. It looks really flattering on the eyes and is ideal for ladies who do not like to leave their comfort zone of a black kajal, but still want to experiment with shimmers. I prefer wearing it on my upper lashline as it works best for me that way.
Longevity: According to Hard Candy, this baby wears for up to 12 hours straight! This pencil stays on the lash-line for a good 7-8 hours without fading or smearing. If you have oily lids like mine, you should get on very well with this formula as it’ll likely wear quite well for you.

The overall quality of this pencil is not bad. It’s soft, fairly pigmented and long lasting. I do recommend this product to all who like this colour with shimmers and would like to try it out for a change. Honestly, I do not reach for it as often as my other liners, but I sure use it occasionally. I will not repurchase this, but will use up what I have left.
