Continuing with my reviews of lipsticks from the Hard Candy Plumping Serum Gel lipstick range, today I am reviewing the shade “Caliente.” This range has some lovely shades at a very affordable price. So, read on to find out more about this particular shade.

My Experience with Hard Candy Caliente Plumping Serum Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a metallic tube packaging with some random creeper vine and heart design. The cap has a little color band at the top which matches the color of the lipstick and also has the shade sticker on it. I found the packaging to be a bit cheap looking, but it is efficient and travel friendly.
Shade/Pigmentation: “Caliente” is a bright fuchsia pink shade. It is slightly blue toned but still does look good on Indian skin tones.
The pigmentation of the lipstick is decent and it covers the lips in a single swipe. I prefer applying two swipes to get a more even finish. There is no clumping observed if you layer the lipstick.
Texture, Finish, Lasting Power: The lipstick feels very moisturizing on the lips. It glides like butter and there is no tugging at all. The lipstick almost feels like a balm which can be attributed to the presence of Mango butter in its ingredients. The lipstick is actually too creamy and there is a danger of the bullet melting in hot weather.
This lipstick is marketed as a plumping lipstick. However, it does not sting like other plumping lipsticks and there is no visible plumpness either. The finish of the lipstick is a glossy crème. The shiny glossy finish does give an illusion of slightly fuller lips though.
The staying power of the lipstick is strictly average – it stays put for around 2-3 hours. It transfers heavily and does not survive a full meal.
To summarize, the lipstick feels very comfortable to wear and has a lovely glossy finish; however, the staying power is quite poor and the shade is not very unique.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Hard Candy Caliente Plumping Serum Lipstick?
No, I will not recommend this particular shade as it is easily dupable and the staying power of the lipstick is pretty low. I would not repurchase the same shade, but I do possess other shades from the range.
