A very dear friend of mine who knows how obsessed I am with makeup goodies got me some cosmetics and chocolates from the States. Among other brands, she got a few stuff from the brand “Hard Candy.” I have not been able to find this brand online in India, so when I could lay my hands on this brand, I was overjoyed. Today’s review will be about a very popular range of the brand – Baked Blush. Let’s talk about Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in the shade “Pin Up.”

My Experience with Hard Candy Pin Up Blush Crush Baked Blush:
Packaging: The blush is encased in a round compact made of sturdy plastic. It has a flip open cap that shuts tight and has a clear lid with the brand name printed on it. The product details are written on the back of the blush. I won’t say that the blush is very classy or elegant looking, but it serves the purpose and is travel friendly.
This baked blush is more of a highlighter than a blush. It gives a frosty finish on cheeks. The color is a unique mixture and difficult to explain. It is a blend of rose-gold, bronze, brown and a metallic pink. Sounds different right? It is indeed “hatke” from the warm gold and rose gold highlighters with its harmonious blend of colors.
It gives a pinkish sheen to your cheeks, so while it definitely has a blush effect, the highlighter is the star. It doesn’t look overtly shimmery but blends nicely on your cheeks. It doesn’t accentuate pores on your cheeks. The warm luminosity it imparts lasts for around 7-8 hours with minimum fading.
The pigmentation is good and buildable. Go light handed initially and build up for a stunning finish. The color would suit a lot of skin tones. While for extremely pale skin, it might act as a bronzer and illuminator, for medium to dusky beauties, it would be a lovely highlighter. However, one needs to check the undertones so that it doesn’t look too frosty on skin.
The blush is finely milled and soft to touch, but it kicks up some amount of powder while using a brush. Also, it can be used both wet and dry. Since I rarely go for heavily illuminated look, I don’t need the wet form, but the shine and glow while used wet is amazing.
I am happy with this one and would definitely be on the lookout for more from this range.
