I have already reviewed some shades from Hard Candy All Glossed Up Hydrating lip stain range (Black Cherry, Venom). Today, the shade that I am going to review is called “Plum Yum!” This shade is probably my second best from the range.
Product Claim/Product Description:
Hard Candy All Matte Up Hydrating Lip Stain is a matte lip crayon that gives a crushed velvet look and feel while having the hydrating benefits of a balm and the long-wear power of stain. Long-wear color is wrapped in a balm-like base that leaves lips feeling soft and kissable all day. The formula contains tropical butters and oils to moisturize while velvety smooth powders blur and fill in fine lines. The precision tip lines lips and fills them with hydrating color to accentuate your pout. The retractable pencil never has you digging for a sharpener again.

My Experience with Hard Candy Plum Yum All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain:
Packaging: This lip stain comes in a regular lip crayon packaging like the Revlon ones. The tube is colour-coded to the lip colour inside. The cap shuts tightly but not with a click sound.
It has a retractable mechanism, which ensures no product wastage due to sharpening. The disturbing part is that the lipstick bullet does not retract back into the bullet completely and sticks to the sides of the tube.
Colour and Pigmentation: “Plum Yum” is a beautiful lavender purple shade with a hint of pink. It is a gorgeous shade which can be perfectly paired up with bold eyes or for everyday wear. The lip stain has decent pigmentation which can be built without the product caking up on the lips. You can apply it with a light hand for a sheer colour pay-off or build it up as per choice.
Texture: Since this is a glossy lip crayon, this baby is quite creamy and soft in texture and applies smoothly without any tugging or pulling. It imparts a beautiful glossy shine to the lips. Somewhat between a creamy lipstick and a gloss. I wouldn’t say this is as hydrating as claimed, but it sure does not dry out the lips.
Longevity: Considering this is a glossy lip stain, it has good staying power and lasts on the lips for a good 5 hours with light snacking post which slight touch up is required. It does leave a subtle stain behind which I like.

Cons of Hard Candy Plum Yum All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain:
- Some packaging errors.
- The colour of the tube, the colour of the lip stain bullet and what it looks on the lips, is nowhere close to each other!!
- Does accentuate dry patches on the lips to some extent so dry lips have to be exfoliated for applying this lip stain.
- Not available in India.

I will sure recommend this All Glossed Up Hydrating Lip Stain line from Hard Candy to all and especially this shade. It’s a gorgeous shade that can be gracefully pulled off by most skin tones and can paired up with any eye look at any time of the year! What else do you need? Go grab it ladies, at this price it’s a steal!
