My definition of the perfect “red lipstick shade” is a combination of applying MAC Ruby Woo on the lips and topping it off with Colorbar Take Me As I Am in the shade Sensuous Red. When I discovered this combination, I thought I had found my perfect red shade for life, but my preference has changed a bit now and I have started liking red shades with plum undertones. I believe plum shades suit all skin tones and all ages. And guess what ladies? I found my perfect plum-red shade finally! I am talking about the Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipstick in the shade “Show Off.”

My Experience with Hard Candy Show Off #1052 Fierce Effects Lipstick:

Hard Candy as a brand has really impressed me with the quality and packaging of their makeup products. The affordable price at which it is available, is the icing on the cake. This “Fierce Effects Lipstick” line is a sure hit for me. As it was a new brand (that I was trying out) and a new launch, I just bought 3 shades of different colour families to experiment and know more about the quality of these lipsticks in terms of pigmentation, longevity, shade selection, etc., but after trying these out, I am sure going to get all the remaining shades very soon.

Packaging: The packaging of this lipstick is absolutely fancy with a matte black body and shiny silver dots on the cap that look like diamonds. The top of the cover is colour coded to the lipstick bullet. The lipstick bullet swirls up effortlessly and does not stick to the tube itself. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the lipstick. The best thing is that the lipstick cap shuts with a secure click sound. All in all, a very sturdy and super attractive packaging.

Color:  Speaking of the colour of this lipstick, all I can say is that it is a fabulous bright red shade with plum undertones. It’s just that plum-red shade that you would love to flaunt with a neutral makeup look. This lipstick shade is sure not an everyday shade, but I would still say that we need a shade like this in our lipstick collection for those special occasions.

Texture: This lipstick has a very smooth and creamy texture and applies like butter on the lips which is splendid. The texture is not as dry and patchy at all. In fact, it feels comparatively quite comfortable on the lips, but I would suggest beauties with extremely dry chapped lips (like me) to apply a lip balm prior to this lipstick so that there’s no tugging or pulling. This lipstick does not contain any shimmer. Thank Goodness!! I totally despise lipsticks with a frost finish or shimmers.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation of this Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipstick in Show Off is awesome!! One swipe of this lipstick gives a considerable amount of coverage. The best thing about this lipstick is that it is buildable without getting patchy or feeling heavy. You can apply it with a light hand for that beautiful flush or go for a full on coverage if you please. Since it is a creamy formulation, it does transfer a bit, but that’s totally okay. Also, ladies with pigmented lips can rejoice as this lipstick covers pigmented lips really well. Now, that’s really remarkable, isn’t it?

Longevity: I was a firm believer that only matte lipsticks are long-lasting, but this baby has changed my perception totally. In spite of its very creamy-ish glossy finish, it lasts on the lips for at least 5 to 6 hours with a little bit of snacks and beverages. It also leaves a tint behind which I really enjoy. So impressive!!

Quality: The overall quality of the Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipsticks is astounding. It is no less than any high end lipsticks. I mean, if Gucci, MAC, or Shiseido came up with the same formulation of the lipstick, I would not be astonished. People would love it very much and pay more than thrice the amount for the same thing. All in all, I am totally satisfied with this lipstick.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Hard Candy Show Off #1052 Fierce Effects Lipstick?

I totally recommend this line of lipstick by Hard Candy to everyone. If you have never tried Hard Candy lipsticks before, please do it now. This brand needs a lot more recognition and love than what it receives. I am pretty sure that this particular lipstick in “Show Off” will suit all skin tones across all ages. You can pick up this affordable purple lipstick and try it out for the colour. I totally love it and shall sure repurchase it if I ever run out of it.
