My today’s pick is this new Head and Shoulders Silky Black Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. I never prefer to apply only one kind of shampoo. As we have different kind of hair problems, we need various shampoos to treat them. I always prefer to use an anti-dandruff shampoo once a week. Let’s get into the review of this one.

My Experience with Head and Shoulders Silky Black Anti-Dandruff Shampoo:

The shampoo comes in the signature ‘Head and Shoulders’ white plastic bottle with a deep blue flip-top cap. The black hair printed on the bottle indicates the theme of this shampoo, but the packaging seems boring to me. This medium sized bottle is totally travel-friendly and lightweight to carry.

The ‘Silky Black’ shampoo is slightly grayish in color and it has a nice medium consistency which is easy to apply. It spreads smoothly on my hair and scalp. My long hair needs a decent amount of the product. It lathers easily on my hair and is easy to rinse also. It has a nice fragrance that lingers but not for long.

I have oily hair, so dirt sticks easily on my hair. During these heavy summer days, my hair sweats badly. This particular shampoo cleanses my hair deeply. It can remove all the dirt from the roots of the hair and make my hair perfectly clean. It also easily cleanses oiled hair with one wash and never irritates my scalp. I had applied it after playing holi and it cleaned my hair in one go. So, as a daily hair cleanser, it works super effectively. Also, it does take some care of dandruff. I don’t have a severe dandruff problem, but this is my mom’s opinion. It really works nicely as an anti-dandruff shampoo.

It keeps my normal hair decently soft and moisturized. It also provides a nice shine and my hair feels silky, as usual. But, my hair is already good enough, so I didn’t notice any huge different. It is not a great shampoo for dry and damaged hair, though. Sometimes my naturally soft hair feels a little dry if I don’t follow up with a conditioner. Also, at the end of the day, my hair is not easy to manage. The shampoo can’t control frizz and the effects do not last long.

Overall I couldn’t notice any hair fall after using this shampoo. It never makes my hair oily or limp. It provides a very nice volume to my hair and cleanses all the oil nicely and keeps my scalp oil-free. Hence, I like this shampoo. It might not be effective for dry and damaged hair but it is still good enough for my hair.
