Health and Beauty Benefits of Emu Oil

Health Benefits of Emu oil

Emu is an Australian bird and in ancient days, the oil extracted from their fat deposits were used by the aborigines of Australia for various healing and therapeutic purpose. Recently, Emu oil is becoming pretty popular for its health and beauty benefits all over the world. The list of benefits is so long and just makes one go and grab it from the stores. I wanted to write this article since I saw an Emu shop near my mom’s place. Today, I just did it as my mom has visited the shop and she was listing all the benefits of this precious oil !!

Initially, the emu oil was used only for healing ailments. A few of them were to treat wounds, pains and bruises. The same was used even for muscle, bone and joints disorders. Pure emu oil is said to be in good yellow color (considering the emu was grown healthy with good feed] and only such pure emu oil claims to do all the healing. The more it became popular and commercial, more is the threat of fraud/duplicate emu oils in the market. So, one has to be very careful before purchasing it from the shops.

Alert – One of my friend who purchased the emu oil from a local shop, had so many skin problems along with which she was cheated a large amount for a tiny bottle of that oil. So, I request everyone to do proper research or go only to reliable shops to purchase the same.

Some ways to distinguish original from the duplicate:

• Emu oil is non-sticky and the one my friend bought was very sticky.
• Get samples before you actually buy a bottle for yourself. My friend got serious skin problems.
• Check the color of the emu oil.
• Check the ingredients before buying the oil.
• Go to the shops that sell original products and not the fake ones.
• Check whether the emu oil is a certified one.

  5. Hi I was looking for something to ease my scalp pain and I found it. *happy dance* Instead of buying emu shampooo/conditioner for hair & scalp health, I will add it to my own during each application. *pigtail*
