Ever since my childhood, I have always detested papaya. I never liked the way it smelt and tasted. Though I have met many people who just love this fruit, somehow I never developed a liking for it. I do know that this yellow fruit is rich in vitamin A and vitamin C, fibre content, potassium and other minerals, anti-oxidants , some enzymes etc. It was recently that i came across an article, which changed my view. Not just health benefits but this fruit also finds lots of applications in cosmetic industry from lip balms to shampoos, you will find many cosmetic products with papaya extracts.

So if you too have been like me- hating, detesting papaya all your life- I give you reasons to reconsider your choice.

• Papaya seeds and leaves are useful in treating intestinal worms found in the body.

  1. lovely article Puneeta.. Papaya is always best for the skin.. but its too hot for the body- so pregnant ladies shud be careful with it.
    My gynaec had told this to me. and she also said that If ur menses get delayed then u can eat papaya to increase body heat!

    1. Good Morning everyone… yes Bee u r rite… it increase body heat and utrine contraction… (it has latex in it)… but ripe ones dnt.. n overall there is confusion in terms of research results…. So gyneacologist advice to avoid papaya all together … y take the risk

    1. Nice one Puneeta..you are right, papaya is a magical fruit, i never used to like the taste before, but once i applied it on my face and saw the magic, u know after that i started eating it too!!!nothing else works better than this as a face pack i believe!!! :yes: :yes:

    I eat papaya every morning at bfast time…its very good for digestion.

    sumtimes I use mashed papaya in a hair pack…but whenever ive used it on my face ,my skin breaks into a rash…

    I toh vouch for Papaya’s benefits…. after too many parties and eating outs, I go on a papaya diet for a day and it soothes and cleans my stomach welll….

  6. Nice article Puneeta! :victory: I wasn’t too fond of papaya earlier but since discovering its benefits especially for people with oily acne prone skin, I’ve started liking it ! It does wonders for the skin when applied externally.
