My Experience with Hempz Original Herbal Body Moisturizer:

During winter months, I suffer from horrible dry skin all over my body. It gets flaky and so itchy. I normally do use body butters, but I feel they are only appropriate for using overnight as an intensive treatment as they can feel very greasy and slippery. So, for daytime use, I was on the lookout for a good body lotion which would be rich enough to moisturize yet feel non greasy and I am pleased to say that this Hempz body moisturizer does live up to my expectation.

Packaging:

I love the pump dispenser and the see-through bottle. Though it is bigger in size and therefore not travel friendly, it works get for at home everyday lotion.

Texture/Consistency:

This is a very rich and creamy body lotion, almost feels like a body butter, but in a slightly liquid format. It does spread very smoothly and gets absorbed into the skin within a minute or so. It gets absorbed into the skin so well that you do not feel any product sitting on your skin, but skin does feel very soft and hydrated immediately.

I do feel on the area where my skin is the most driest , the product gets absorbed so completely yet there is still some dryness left, so I do have to follow up with another layer of this. Even with multiple layers of this product on my skin, it does not feel heavy.

Fragrance:

I admit at first I was hesitant to buy this online because I was concerned about the fragrance. I absolutely despise the scent of the Body Shops Hemp product line, so I thought maybe this product will have a similar scent since it also features hemp as its main ingredient. I was pleasantly surprised when I smelled this at the store. It smells totally like bananas, very tropical and fruity. The scent is a little on the stronger side and does last for an hour at most. I feel unless you hate the scent of banana, you will not be disappointed in this aspect.

Staying Power/Moisturizing Ability:

It does moisturize and hydrate extremely well when it’s on the skin. Skin does not feel dry even when the area is washed a couple of times.  But I do feel this product did not improve my skin on a long-term basis. Even when I skip using this for a day, my dryness of skin returned to the same extent, being flaky and itchy.

You do require a lot of product if you are going to use this all over the body as it is thicker in consistency. Hence it may get used up within 1-2 months.  Overall, very pleased with this product.  I will recommend this body moisturizer.
