Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner Review

Hello everybody,

I wonder why not all the days are like Friday evenings – just relax, enjoy, have a blast for the rest of 2 days. Anyway, coming to today’s review, I am going to review Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner. I have been using the shampoo and conditioner from this range for almost 6 months. I have not switched to any other shampoo (apart from TBS rainforest), read on to find why.

Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner

Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner

Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner

My Experience with Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Conditioner:

Packaging: Herbal Essences shampoos come in transparent bottles whereas the conditioners come in opaque ones. Almost all of the Herbal Essences products look cute and very girly.  This is a huge sturdy bottle. We needn’t worry about spillage but it is certainly not travel friendly because I don’t prefer to carry such huge bottles while traveling.

Fragrance: Well, as the packaging says “with rose extracts,” the conditioner smells of roses.  Which girl would not like her hair to smell like roses :D. The fragrance is pretty strong, my hair smells of roses for 2 days.

Color/Texture:  The product is light pink in colour and the texture is very creamy and thick.

Before telling you how the product worked for me, I would tell you about my hair type and texture. My hair is naturally jet black, very thick, and healthy, thanks to my momma 😛 I had to face premature greying at a very early age.  I started using henna, but I realized that henna makes my hair dry and lifeless, that’s why I started colouring my hair. Initially, I used to go to salons and get my hair coloured with L’Oreal INOA.  But as time passed by, I realized that salon’s always burn a huge hole in the pocket, so I started to color my hair with L’Oreal Casting Creme without ammonia in the shade – 323 Sonam’s Dark Chocolate. Believe me, it is the best thing that happened to my hair. I am no more uncomfortable with my grey hair, I have my luscious hair back.

Colour treated hair needs proper care with a good shampoo and conditioner meant for colour treated hair. Previously, we used to have very few options for colour treated hair; but now, there are more brands in the market, all thanks to globalization. In a quest to find the best shampoo and conditioner for my hair, I ended up getting Color Me Happy range from Herbal Essences.  I have tried Color Me Shiny as well, but this is much better than that.

After shampooing my hair with Color Me Happy, I apply a generous amount of conditioner all over my hair leaving the scalp area. I keep it for a good 10 minutes and rinse it off completely.  My hair feels soft, supple and well moisturized. On days when I don’t use the conditioner, my hair seems to be dry. This has become my HG product now. I keep switching between TBS rainforest and Herbal Essences Color Me Happy.  I like the way it smooths my hair and keeps it moisturized.  It also makes my hair tangle free; however, I do follow up with a hair serum.

Ladies with colour treated hair need to take care of their hair a lot. The main reason I chose this range is because it does not rip my hair colour off. By using this shampoo and conditioner duo, my colour stays there for quite a good number of days.

  1. you are not alone trust me, I am 24 and already have so many grey hairs *cry* *cry* but I guess it’s common these days, on ur recommendation I am going to try the L’Oreal Casting Creme without ammonia, hope it works well for me too 🙂

    1. Ohhh! Trust me Sonia, Loreal Casting creme works wonders. Ppl say that coloring hair will cause lot of damage to hair cuz of chemicals in it but i swear by casting creme every tym 🙂 It makes my hair sooo soft and smooth that it looks like i just visited salon for a hair spa *pompom*

        1. Firstly i colored my hair globally. Then as my hair starts growing, my roots come up as grey hair. So in a mnth my hair growth is gnrly 1.5 to 2 inches. So i colour my hair every 20 days. I use the loreal casting creme two times- half of it for one touch up and remaining half for nxt tym. And once in 8 mnths i do a global color. My hair is basically thick and waist length long, so it takes 2 packs of casting creme for global color. Hope this helps 🙂

          1. There is no particular time gap to re apply the colour. If u feel tht u can see the grey hair and thts annoying u , u can go ahead and colour it… best is to take a min of 15 to 20 days gap 🙂

  2. I am in the same boat too…i am just 25…using Black cherry 360….But i have heard that we must use the same company shampoo and conditioner…is that true?because i am using loreal shampoo from last 2 years and want a change

    1. I dont think we need to use the shampoo and conditioner from the same brand. I tried lot many shampoos and difnrt conditioners before i settled to TBS rainforest and HE color me happy. I reely wana try Locctaine now but it burns a hugeee hole n my pocket 🙁

      1. *thankyou* for replying…will try HE now as it is at a reasonable price and an awesome post as it is so genuine post… *thankyou*
