Herbal Essences Naked Volume Shampoo Review

Herbal Essences Naked Volume Shampoo Review

Hello sweethearts,

A verryyyyy happppiee new year to everyone. 😀 May this year brings lots of joy, love, luck, happiness and success for all of you. Also, I pray and hope that this year also brings peace and prosperity and we don’t have the incidents like Peshawar, Bangalore anymore. 🙂  Moving on to the review. The product I am reviewing today is a shampoo.  I have very thin and fine but straight and silky hair naturally. My hair used to be the subject for my cousin’s hairstyle experiments. She used to love mine and my sissy’s hair since she herself had very curly mane. But I took them for granted and as I moved out of home to hostel, and then to different cities for jobs. The lifestyle, stress and pollution took a toll on my hair. Though I used to oil them regularly, but just oiling would not give us great hair especially in today’s times. Now, I have an oily scalp and very dry hair. Hair fall, split ends and dandruff etc., have aggravated my problems.

Herbal Essences Naked Volume Shampoo

I wanted a change in shampoo and spotted this one just in time. The paraben, silicone and dye free claims attracted me and the price was the cherry on the cake. 🙂

Product Description:

Volumize your hair, and let it get naked.  The formula is free of silicones, parabens, and dyes, but doesn’t withhold the revitalizing aromas of grapefruit and mossa mint oil. invigorate your strands with everything you desire, and nothing you don’t.

My Experience with Herbal Essences Naked Volume Shampoo:

The shampoo comes in a tall transparent bottle which has graphics of mint leaves over it and has a very plain packaging unlike the colorful packing for other shampoos form Herbal Essences.  The bottle is see through and you know the quantity remaining in the bottle. The cap has a push-down nozzle, similar to the ones we get with bath and body works body lotion, for dispensing the shampoo. Overall, the packaging is simple, no frills attached and sturdy. But the bottle is huge to be taken along while traveling. However, a travel-sized pack of 50 ml is also available.

The shampoo is transparent, as it is dye free and has normal consistency, i.e. it is neither too thick nor runny. It has a refreshing citrusy-minty fragrance. It smells really fresh and clean due to white grapefruit and mint extracts. I love the scent. It stays on for some time after washing the hair and slight fragrance can be noticed if I sniff my hair closely, even on the next day.

The shampoo completely washes out the dirt and oil and doesn’t leave any residue. It leaves hair squeaky clean. However, after oiling, I need two washes to wash out the oil completely, but thenm that is the case with all the shampoos and I really don’t mind it. While washing, it gives a cool, tingly feeling (due to presence of mint extracts and menthol) which feels really nice. It leaves my hair soft and clean. It doesn’t dry my already dry hair any further and even when I skipped conditioner and serum (for the sake of the review), my hair looked nice and shiny. 🙂

Normally, my hair becomes very limp due to oily scalp and I generally wash them every alternate day. But this shampoo gives me an additional day. My scalp doesn’t becomes very oily and so sometimes, when I am too lazy, I wash my hair on the third day. 😛

The amount of hair I used to lose while washing them almost gave me a mini heart attack, but this shampoo has really made a lot of difference in how much hair I lose in the shower. I have been using it for almost 3 weeks now and it has made a difference in my dandruff too (which is mostly due to the super cold weather) — mint and menthol are working. 😛 Though it has not cleared it up like any anti-dandruff shampoo would have but then it doesn’t claim to do so…this is just added bonus. 😛

Now coming to the volume part, it won’t give you tonnes of volume, but it gives hair a bit of bounce and the formula doesn’t weigh down your hair. Though no difference in hair growth as well (we need to eat right for that 😉 ), but it definitely leaves my hair voluminous than flat.
