After boring you all with continuous lipstick and lipgloss reviews for a month, today I thought of taking a break and reviewing a skincare product instead. So, this time I will review the Himalaya Herbals Fairness Kesar Face Wash which has been in the market for quite sometime. So, let’s hop on to the review.

My Experience with Himalaya Herbals Fairness Kesar Face Wash:

The face wash comes in the very familiar Himalaya face wash packaging which is a see through tube with a green lid. The see through tube helps in knowing the amount of product in the tube and the lid shuts tightly and helps me to carry it in my purse for a quick face cleansing any time, anywhere. The tube has the brand name and logo printed on the front side and at the back all details such as the complete ingredient list, date of mfg, expiry etc are mentioned.

Being enriched with natural products like kesar, cucumber, etc., I was expecting the face wash to have a soft, natural fragrance, but I was disappointed to encounter a cosmetic rose cream sort of a fragrance which I’m not a fan of. Comparatively, the Neem Face Wash from the brand has a more soothing fragrance. The face wash has thick cream like consistency which feels really soft on the face. Being thick, it comes out as round big blob when the tube is squeezed and is the exact amount I need to wash my face. It lathers mildly and gives a moisturising feel while washing the face. It leaves the skin feeling soft, supple and squeaky clean yet at the same time doesn’t give that dreaded stretchy feel to the face.

Right from the first wash, I noticed a bit of suppleness and glow to my face so I’m guessing the kesar and the mint are doing their job well. Being moisturising, I feel it would be an instant love for dry skinned beauties as it wouldn’t dry or stretch their skin post usage. But, for oily skinned girls this might end up being a bit of a disappointment as it doesn’t have mattifying and oil control properties(neither does it claim so) like the other oil controlling face washes in the market.

I have a combination skin with a very oily t-zone and I can feel my face getting oily in an hour post using this face wash in summers, so I have kept this one for winters and I would suggest girls with oily skin to do the same. Regarding the fairness claim, I cannot comment as I didn’t see any marked difference in my complexion (and neither do I want to get fairer as I’m happy with my skin tone), but what is definitely visible is a glow. It didn’t cause any allergy or breakouts on my skin, which I obviously like.

• Adds a bit of glow to the face
• Quite moisturising for a face wash
• Has the goodness of kesar, pomegranate, cucumber and mint extracts

Cons of Himalaya Herbals Fairness Kesar Face Wash:

• Not a very soothing natural fragrance
• May not suit oily skinned girls in the summers

Overall, I quite liked the face wash for the glow and moisturisation that it offers and I can see myself using this in winters. However, for now, I would continue using my neem face wash from the brand. I recommend this face wash to the dry skinned girls on the lookout for a moisturising face wash.
