My lip butter jar’s inner lid had blackish discoloration when I first opened the pack and I hope it isn’t something I should be worried about. The product appears clean though.

The butter is clear and soft in consistency. I am not sure if the consistency will get affected in cold places.
I bought this primarily to use at night, because it fits the bill of ‘clear and spf free’ lip moisturizer. Those of you, who want some sun protection or tint, should look elsewhere.

Himalaya herbals lip butter review

It is very moisturizing, but I personally don’t have dry and chapped lips, so I can’t comment on the effectiveness of the product in healing the lips.

I’ll quickly list the pros and cons here:

Pros:
• Soft, buttery consistency
• Very moisturizing and long lasting effects
• Non sticky
• Good value for money
• Small, hygienic packaging (I find it cute)
• Claims to be all natural without any artificial additives

Cons:
• Tub packaging, which is not convenient while travelling
• No spf
• Slight lingering cocoa scent (not a problem for me, but people sensitive to smells may not like it)

My rating: 4/5 🙂  it is sooooo soft and buttery that I feel like adding it in my sandwich!! 😛

    1. thanks sukanya! 🙂 this is the first “balm in a pot” that i have used, n it is indeed a bit inconvenient. but at night before sleeping, i don’t mind using this, it stays put till the morning. so i can easily ignore that con 😉

  5. This one looks so soft Tinkerbell..Thanks for the review. I will buy this soon, I am not fond of tinted lip balms so I guess this can be my thing after using Boroline at night for years

      1. biotique?? hmm…okay, will see…i had a neutrogena lip balm once, but feel nothing works like boroline…Lips feel so moisturized all day long that I hardly need to use lip balms during the day :))

    1. oh yea agni, it’s very soft, no pressure needed at all. it’ll come on to ur finger in just a swipe. :haanji:
i love tinted balms, but no point using tinted ones at night…so this one’s good 🙂

      1. if you want tinted go for maybelline wala..they moisturising too…lipice is not tinted but i like the tingling cool cool feel after applying the lemon wala… me thinking of getting this one today … 😉 😉

  6. Ah, this seems like a lip balm after my own heart. Now if only it came in a tube instead of a pot… 😐 :(( I hate the companies who sell lip balms in pots. :scream: That’s by far the dumbest product packaging idea ever even beating Aroma Magic’s nail-breaking bottle caps. 😮 😮 I shall wait till Himalaya releases it in a tube form. 😛 😛

  7. me too found diz while in search of a untinted moisturising lip balm w/o SPF for night use…… n absolutely love it!!
though it looks white n waxy, no white wax on lips like sumother lip balms i had used! its so moisturising and leaves lips oh so soft! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

  8. By far the best lip product I have used for my dry lips, it smells heavenly.
Yes, I was reluctant to try tub packaging in lip balms, but after going through so many positive reviews I gave it a shot and I’m so glad I did it!

It keeps my lips healthy and pink! 🙂
