Chapped Lips

My Take on Himalaya Herbals Natural Intensive Lip Balm:

The product that I will be reviewing today is the latest product by Himalaya Herbals – Natural Intensive Lip Balm. When my Himalaya Lip Butter was about to get over, I thought of getting myself another clear lip balm and it was then that I spotted this at a medical store.  I thought that the Himalaya people have answerd my prayers and introduced the lip butter in a stick form.

A closer look at the lip balm and it turned out to be a completely different product , I thought what the heck and bought it straightaway.

Chapped Lips

Now, let’s start with the packaging first.  Its a big turn off for girls who look look for cuteness in their lip balms, it looks more like an inhaler to me than a lip balm. The lip balm is soft and glides easily on the lips; however, I don’t like lip balms that feel heavy on the lips and this does feel heavy and gives a bit of waxy feeling.  The cap is tight enough so no problem in carrying it around in the bag.  It smells a bit medicinal and a bit herbal, nothing bothersome about it though. About treating chapped lips, due to the change in the weather, my lips had turned all red and chapped and it certainly has healed them to some extent.  Its moisturising and stays on my lips for a good 1-1.5 hours.

Overall, I would say that I am disappointed with this lip balm and its a passable product, especially when it comes from Himalaya Herbals, who have had a hit with the lip butter. I won’t recommend it to anyone, rather I would suggest to add another 50 bucks and get the Himalaya lip butter if you don’t mind the tub packaging.

Being a stick lip balm, people might immediately compare it with the Lotus Herbals Lip Balm, which in my opinion is a cult favourite when it comes to a drug store brand, with qualities like no waxy feeling , a lip balm in variants like rose , chocolate , vanilla , being completely herbal and coming with SPF 5 as an added advantage, this one is a sure shot winner, but if you want a lip balm that you can use at night and genuinely does the work of a “a lip balm,” then Himalaya Herbals Lip Butter it is. I call it the miracle product and here I would also like to share that it has also lightened the color of my lips.

The stick of my himalaya lipbalm just broke after just 12 days of using it!

Pros of Himalaya Herbals Natural Intensive Lip Balm:

  • Reasonably priced at 175 INR.
  • Comes in a stick form.
  • The cap is sturdy enough.
  • Heals chapped lips to some extent (not completely though).
  • Mild fragrance.
  • Moisturizing.
  • Not tested on animals.
  • Chemical free, hence completely herbal.

Cons of Himalaya Herbals Natural Intensive Lip Balm:

  • Feels heavy on lips.
  • Gives a waxy feeling
  • No SPF.

    1. pleasure shami 🙂
the lip butter has turned out to be my h.g balm , but i use it only at night so taht it can work on me like the night creams :p

  1. I won’t buy this now! Thanks for the review, Anshu! 🙂 I so have to try the lip butter now – have heard so many people raving about it!!!

    1. ditto bhumika 🙂

i havent used their cherry lip balm 🙁 i keep rebuying their vanilla and cocoa variant 🙂

  2. This is so disappointing 🙁 I’m on a HUNT, literally for a good lipbalm! I don’t like tub packaging so need a stick. However, all the ones that I have tried have some prob or the other 🙁
LipIce peeled out my lips! Lotus herbals is good but the vanilla one literally crumbled n broke on my lips n the rotating applicator is always faulty 🙁 Nivea doesn’t have spf versions except for the Med protect which wasn’t very moisturizing. Neutrogena is what I’m using at present except for it’s smell which I COMPLETELY dislike! 🙁 🙁
What to do, I can’t find a proper clear lipbalm only with spf 🙁

    1. And oh ya, Vaseline too hard n waxy n no spf, n BodyShop too expensive for someone who literally smears on lipbalm!
Oops I sound so crabby n fussy :/

      1. lotus lipbalms are considered best in the market as far as lip-balms with spf is concerned and if you fear breaking of lip balm then try to store them in refrigerator and take them out when you leave for college or office 🙂

as there is a less chance of breakage when stored this way 🙂

    1. same here 😉 i have heard loads of good things about maybelline lip balm 🙂
i will be buying that orange wala , guess its called mandarin something 🙂
