Himalaya Herbals Protein Shampoo Softness and Shine
Hey everyone,
Sometime back I was cleaning my cupboard which was sort of in a mess and I found this Himalaya Shampoo lying there. I remember picking this up online some months ago because it read “Free from Parabens, Silicone, SLES”. Let me come down to my experience with it.
What the product claims:
Enriched with extracts of protein-rich herbs, our new shampoo range nourishes your hair, giving you the three essential benefits that your hair needs – strength, reduced hair fall and protection from everyday damage.
A 2-in-1 formulation that cleans and conditions in one step, making your hair silky, smooth and radiant. Provides your hair its daily dose of proteins, keeping it soft, lustrous and healthy.

My experience with Himalaya Herbals Protein Shampoo Softness and Shine:
As usual I had bought the smallest size of the shampoo to see how it fared on my hair. If ever, a shampoo fares well on my hair, then I go for the bigger bottle. Thank god, I got a smaller bottle of this product. The packaging of the shampoo is a standard Himalaya packaging with white body and green flip cap. It is sturdy and travel friendly. The shampoo is a pale yellow liquid which is on the runny side. It has this mild floral fragrance which stays in the hair for an hour or two after you rinse it off.
The shampoo lathers decently but you need a little more amount to form that rich lather. I have used this on oiled hair as well and it required two washes to remove all the oil from the hair. I noticed that it keeps the scalp fresh for almost 3 days. Going by the claim of the company, I once tried this shampoo without the conditioner and oh my, it made my dry hair look highly damaged. So, it’s definitely not one of those 2-in-1 products for all hair types. When used with the conditioner from Tresemme, it still made my hair appear dry. It was as if it ripped off all the moisture from my hair. So overall, I would say this shampoo is definitely not meant for people with dry hair.
Pros of Himalaya Herbals Protein Shampoo Softness and Shine:
• Mild floral fragrance
• Keeps the scalp clean for almost 3 days
• Did not cause hair fall
• Free from Parabens, Silicone and SLES
• Sturdy, travel friendly packaging
• Inexpensive
• Widely available
Cons of Himalaya Herbals Protein Shampoo Softness and Shine:
• False claim of being a 2-in-1 product
• Definitely not meant for people with dry hair
• Only Key Ingredients mentioned which leaves me suspicious
Final Verdict:
This shampoo is definitely not meant for people with dry hair but if you have oily hair, you might still give this a try.

I also use this with tressme conditioner combination. Yes, it is true that it is not 2 in 1 product but I have completely different experience from you. Likewise you said it keeps me scalp fresh that no other shampoo did for me. It reduced hairfall and my hair now looks much healthier. Its bad that it did not work for you. I have oily scalp and dry hair.
Glad it worked for you Wafa 🙂 Hair care products indeed work differently on different people. *pigtail*
You said that it lathers decently but it just do not lather on oily hair and have to simply put a lot of time..
