In most of my articles I mention that I have oily acne prone skin, well that means that I have to be extra careful while using make up products. Recently I was on a look out for some good face scrub which dint aggravate my acne problem further but removed the dead skin and the blackheads by gently exfoliating the face. I randomly picked up Himalaya neem scrub and Lotus skin polisher from cosmetix.in a couple of weeks back. I picked up the Himalaya one because I have been using its face pack and i completely love that product.
Lets see if my random pick was useful or not:
Product being reviewed: Himalaya Herbals purifying Neem Scrub
Price /Packaging/Quantity : INR 65 for50gms. It comes in tube form with a green coloured flip cap. It’s a regular Himalaya packaging. The flip cap though doesn’t feel sturdy but once it shuts, it doesn’t budge from its place hence the assurity that it wouldn’t open on its own.
What’s there on the tube?
Specially formulated to give you clear, problem free skin, this scrub works with a dual exfoliation and purifying action. Neem, well known for its purifying and antibacterial properties, kills problem causing bacteria. Cmbined with exfoliating apricot granules, it gently sscrubs awy blackheads, dead skin cells and embedded impurities, leaving your skin soft, clear, refreshed and problem free.
Ingredients: Neem, Apricot (active)
MethylparabenIP, Propylparaben IP,phenoxyethanol IP ( in active)
My take on the scrub:
It is an off white gel like consistency scrub which has minute green and orange coloured particles, the greens are available in plenty whereas the orange ones are quite less in number. As, I mentioned earlier, I have oily skin so I was a little sceptical in giving it a try but finally I conjured up the strength and squeezed good amount to apply on the face. Once I applied, it did not feel scratchy on my skin at all, I started liking it from the very first stint I had with it. Also, I liked the mild fresh fragrance this scrub exuded, I could actually smell fresh neem leaves. It did not sting my entire face only a slight sensation was felt on the sides of the nose. I rubbed for 2 minutes and washed off my face. My face came out so clean and my nose was particularly softer, I followed it up with Himalya Neem face pack, though instantly I coudn’t notice any major difference apart from my nose feeling softer. When I got up in the morning I noticed that the smaller zists had dried up and my blackheads were considerably less visible. However, it did not shrink my relatively larger pores.
I have been using this scrub for the past 10-12 days and I think I have found my HG scrub in it :yahoo:

2. Does a great job of removing blackheads
3. My face felt softer after its application
4. The granules are mild and hence this scrub would be suitable for ladies having acne prone skin.
5. Quite travel friendly packaging
6. I prefer the flip cap tube packaging over the tub or the pot ones which are messy and unhygienic to handle.
7. Dries the zists.
