Himalaya Refreshing and Clarifying Toner Review

After my marriage, I started religiously following the cleansing-toning-moisturizing routine for my skin because in my bridal package, they had emphasized a lot on following this routine. So, till now, I was using the herbal toner from Ayur, as I got a big bottle of that in my vanity case gifted my mom-in-law, but after reading about different toners on IMBB, I felt my toner is not doing the right job on my skin and I decided to look for some other options available. I wanted alcohol free and herbal toner, hence picked the Himalaya Refreshing and Clarifying Toner.

Price:

Rs. 80 for 100 ml.

Product Description:

Refreshing and Clarifying Toner controls oil secretion, cleanses and nourishes skin at the same time. Enriched with all natural ingredients like Citrus Lemon and Mint, it cleanses, soothes and prepares your skin for moisturizing.

Composition:

Citrus limon (Lemon, Nimbuka) is an effective cleanser, which removes dead skin cells and impurities, leaving your skin supple, smooth and fresh.  Lens culinaris (Lentil, Masura) deep cleanses pores and gives your skin back its lost nutrients like protein.  Boerhavia Root controls excess oil secretion to leave your skin clear, soft and radiant.

How To Use:

Add a few drops of Refreshing and Clarifying Toner on a cotton pad and wipe thoroughly over face and neck.

Toner

My Experience with Himalaya Refreshing and Clarifying Toner:

I am using this toner from the last two weeks and after using this, I have realized that a toner can work without stinging the skin because the Ayur toner used to sting. This toner does not dry out skin, it has moisturizing properties.  This one is a lightweight toner, but it leaves some kind of a layer on my skin, which I don’t like. It tightens the pores and controls oil.  After wiping the skin with this toner, I always find some impurities or dust on the cotton pad. That gives me the feel that it is cleaning my skin thoroughly, but the oil control action does not stay for long.  My skin gets oily just after a few hours of application.

Toner

This toner has a pleasant smell and is transparent. It comes in a plastic bottle with flip cap. It is not travel friendly according to me because when the bottle is kept horizontally, the toner tends to spill out. I am planning to buy a travel-size spray bottle for this problem.  It has a shelf life of three years.

Pros of Himalaya Refreshing and Clarifying Toner:

  • Thoroughly cleans the skin, removes impurities and dirt.
  • Does not dry out the skin.
  • Has moisturizing properties.
  • Does not sting the skin.
  • Affordable.
  • Smells great.

Cons of Himalaya Refreshing and Clarifying Toner:

  • Does not control oil for a long time.
  • No drastic change in the overall appearance of skin.
  • Packaging not travel friendly.

IMBB Rating:

3.5/5

It is a decent toner for this price. I feel girls with normal to dry skin will love this one.  The smell is very pleasant. As it is not costly, you can try this alcohol-free toner.

  1. Good review Sweta!!!, i have this toner and i used it only for a week.. reason is the same as you have mentioned, it leaves a thin layer and doesnt control oil.. Oily skin ppl please stay away 🙂

But it would be a very good toner for DRY skin ppl, it has a good moisturizing properties, it doesnt sting or irritate, the smell is too good as well:)

  2. Good review Sweta.. I too ahd the same prob with Ayur’s Tonners..they are bad..but ths sounds good.will try someday..

  3. I have super oily skin and my skin is acne prone. This wont suit me. I use F*bindia tea tree toner.
Ayur toner is of no use. 🙁

  4. I’ve used this toner, but I too felt it did nothing great to my skin. I have dry skin and it wasn’t something that I couldn’t live without.
But I’ve found my HG cleanser+toner now 🙂 Vichy Purete Thermale Purifying Foaming Water 🙂 It’s a cleanser that tones as well 🙂 Love it!

    Nice review 🙂

  5. i used this , and i have oily skin , it makes the skin sticky , tastes horrible even when carefully not applied around mouth , makes me feel as if i ve nt even washed my face well. 🙁

  6. I used to have a toner from himalaya a long time back…n though it did clean my facial skin of impurities it left behind a sticky feeling…..the best toner ive used till date is the clinique clarifying lotion….try it once-gr8 for oilies n combination skinned gals like myself…..

  7. Hi Sweta. nice review. Can I use face serums and cream after using this toner? And does this clog pores? Waiting for a reply.
