Himani Boro Plus Antiseptic Cream-Review

Hi beauties,

Today I shall be writing about a very old cream, not that I own an expired product but by old I mean that this cream has been around for a long time. As a child , I saw a tube of it being used by my mom. As I grew up, I saw my elder sister using it and even I have been using it on and off all along. It is a cream meant to combat winter dryness and hence with winters setting in, I started using it. Please read on further to find out about my experience with the same.

Price/ Quantity/ Packaging

INR 25 for 19 ml. It comes in a white plastic tube packaging with a blue/ lavender screw cap. Since the consistency of the cream is thick, a little pressure needs to be applied at the bottom of the tube to squeeze out the cream. The packaging is cute, sturdy and travel friendly.

My take on Himani Boro Plus Antiseptic Cream:

Well this cream is not a cosmetic preparation. It is a multipurpose antiseptic cream which may be used to soften chapped lips, cure minor burns, cuts and wounds, to heal cracked feet and to prevent nappy rashes. It is a thick white coloured cream which takes a little time to get absorbed into the skin, infact you will feel a little oily post its application. It has a nice flowery fragrance which to some may be overpowering. The fragrance remains intact for around 30 minutes though the intensity reduces. I have tried the same on chapped lips but it did not fare too well and left a whitish layer on my lips. My mother has been using it on cracked heels and they appear to have healed slightly. The heels have become softer as well. This cream works best on dry skin of the elbows and knees. It provides enough hydration, in winters specially in the chilly winters of northern India, elbows and knees are most affected, this cream has been able to take care of them nicely. Also, it works equally good on minor cuts and burns. Accidentally, I have burnt my hands a couple of times while working in the kitchen and this cream has been my life savior. It reduces the burning sensation substantially.

All, in all it is a good antiseptic cream which all should have in the house.

Pros of Himani Boro Plus Antiseptic Cream:

1. Cute travel friendly packaging which is hygienic since it is tube type.
2. Nice flowery fragrance.
3. Works nicely on dry skin of knees and elbows.

5. May be applied for minor burns.

Cons of Himani Boro Plus Antiseptic Cream:

1. Does not get completely absorbed into the skin.
2. Since it is heavy, leaves the skin a little oily.
3. Does not work on dry chapped lips, leaves a whitish cast as well.
4. Contains parabens.

Do I recommend/ Will I repurchase Himani Boro Plus cream?

  1. Bachpan ka cream….. I think we all grew up seeing this with our mom Shivani 🙂
I still keep one tube of it handy with me…. Fev antiseptic cream !!

  2. Well, these are very few uses. Boroplus has many more uses to its credit. It can be applied overnight on chapped lips and in the morning the chapped skin just peels away easily leaving the lips soft.
It also helps decreasing the intensity of pimples. Applying it on pimples as soon as they surface on the skin helps in reducing the redness and prevents scars.
