I am reviewing a mascara from one of my favorite lifestyle brands H&M. This is a volume mascara, and is sold in different packagings in H&M stores globally. Let’s quickly get into the review.
Mascara with a wide brush to give lashes added volume.
My Experience with H&M Volume Mascara Black:
Packaging: Totally luxe! It comes in a bulky looking metallic silver tube. The big body of the mascara betrays the fact that it is very lightweight and travel-friendly. Though it is not sleek, I do not find any problem in carrying it (unless you carry mascara in your pocket). The packaging has product details written on it. Just look at the pictures. Isn’t it so classy and sassy? That said, the packaging has different variants and I find it confusing to find the same formula in different tubes!
I got this mascara a few months back and although it has been close to 5 months of using it, I didn’t have the heart to throw it away. I hate throwing away mascaras after a few months (but I do) especially if they look gorgeous and make my lashes gorgeous. 😛
I adore this mascara for daily use. I do not curl my lashes, have never used a lash curler and in general, do not reach for mascara compulsorily. I like my mascaras to give some definition and volume to my lashes. This is a great one for regular use. The wand is the right size and easy to use. The closely set bristles coat each lash and impart a deep black color. With 2-3 coats, my lashes look quite prominent and have good volume. It does elongate my lashes and gives a nice look.
The texture is on the thicker side and it takes a couple of minutes to dry out completely. It has a matte black color which is easily wearable even for the soberest meetings. It makes my eyelashes feel quite lightweight and do not give an uncomfortable heavy feeling as is the case with some super volume mascaras. With multiple swipes, it tends to clump lashes, but again it performs better than its peers. It doesn’t sting eyes or cause irritation.
It is water resistant, but not completely waterproof. Personally, I like this, as an unwanted sobbing doesn’t create a mess and I can easily remove it with micellar water. But for days of full-on wailing and relentless rains, don’t wear this.
All said and done, this is a mascara I reach out for a lot. For those who prefer a glam on, drama mascara – this would disappoint. But if you like my without and with mascara pictures and want something simple and easy to use – this is a top choice.
Pros of H&M Volume Mascara Black:
Easy to use wand
Closely set synthetic bristles
Gives good volume and length
Doesn’t cause heaviness or clumpy lashes
Cons of H&M Volume Mascara Black:
Multiple coats may clump lashes (I like it)
Not completely waterproof
IMBB Rating: 4/5
