1. Cucumber Mask

The visible redness that appears in a flare-up is caused by the blood vessels becoming enlarged and cucumber can help with that redness. Just blend a fresh cucumber and apply it to face like a mask, leave it on for about 10-15 minutes. And then, wash it off. You can repeat this process everyday if you get flare ups to soothe the skin.

2. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties which help a great deal in those flare ups. You can directly apply fresh aloe vera gel twice a day to affected area to calm down the skin.

3. Honey

Honey has both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, so it can be a very effective remedy when the rosacea is being caused by microbes or to be specific, bacteria. You can use raw honey to cleanse your face instead of your regular facial cleanser. It will definitely help a great deal.

4. Green Tea

Green tea has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which can be of great help in combating this skin issue. You can directly use cold green tea bags to soothe the inflamed skin or you can freeze green tea and use those ice cubes to calm down the redness.

Oats can work as a gentle and natural exfoliant and will help soothe itching and reduce the redness in the skin.
Just mix two tablespoons of oatmeal with four tablespoons of water and gently rub the mixture onto your face. You can do this every alternate day.

Avoid spicy food, alcohol, extreme heat or cold, stress, and even some of your skin care products as they may trigger a rosacea flare. If you think something doesn’t suit you, then stop doing it or using it.

8. Use Gentle Cleansers:

Go for natural, organic cleansers that are really gentle on the skin. Do not go for products that are harsh on the skin (Don’t use products that contain retinoids or salicylic acid.) or which have too many ingredients. You can also go for homemade natural cleansers which do not have any side effects.

9. Wear Sunscreen:

UV light aggravates rosacea symptoms and can cause inflammation that is linked to its onset. So, do not forget to wear a sunscreen which is SPF 30 or higher, no matter what the weather is.

Use as less makeup as you can and go for fragrance-free, mineral-based makeup which is much less irritating to the skin than other types of makeup. Instead of going for liquid based makeup as it will clog pores, go for powder based products.

11. Skip the Facials:

If you have flare ups, then it is best to avoid any kind of facials as they will aggravate rosacea even more. Just be very basic with your skin care regimen during this time.
