Homemade Face Pack To Lighten Complexion: Do It Yourself

Hello Beautiful People 🙂

I usually prepare my own face packs.  You have to just mix and match the ingredients and have the perfect face pack suitable for your skin 😀 During my recent experimentation, I wanted to make a face pack that would take care of my combination skin during summers (not too dry and not too oily!), and would be able to brighten/ lighten my complexion and at the same time would have anti-ageing, moisturizing, toning effects along with being pH balanced!!! Do you think I’m asking for too much at one go? Well, not really, read on to see the recipe of a face pack that does all! So, here I present to you my all-in-one face pack! Tadaaaaa 😀

Things You Will Need:

Homemade+Face+Pack+To+Lighten+Complexion+Do+It+Yourself

  • Rice flour- 1 tbsp.
  • Kasturi Manjal(Ambi haldi) powder – 1 tbsp.
  • Green tea – 1 tbsp.
  • Milk with malai – 1 tbsp.
  • Honey – 1 tsp (optional).

Let me start by giving you the benefits of each ingredient; later we will move on to the steps:

Rice flour:

  • Ancient Asian women used to use rice flour to lighten and brighten their skin.
  • Rice also contains two other sun protecting agents – ferulic acid and allantoin.
  • Ferulic acid is an antioxidant.
  • Allantoin is a good anti-inflammatory agent. It soothes sunburns and also promotes the skin’s repair.
  • When applied as a paste on the skin, rice powder has been shown to inhibit tyrosinase (helps in pigmentation).
  • Helps to get a translucent complexion.

Ambi Haldi (Kasturi Manjal):

  • Ambi haldi powder is known for its anti-bacterial properties.
  • Helps in lighten skin tone.
  • Helps in fighting wrinkles.
  • Stops formation of acne.

Green Tea:

  • Very high in anti-oxidant property.
  • Tones the skin.
  • Fights wrinkles.
  • Helps in reducing pores.

Milk with Cream:

  • Milk is a natural source for Lactic Acid which helps in lightening skin.
  • Best cleanser.
  • Milk cream has skin softening properties.
  • Moisturizes skin.

Honey:

  • Helps lighten skin spots.
  • Moisturizing.
  • Anti-bacterial.

Now, coming to the procedure; please follow these simple steps, you won’t regret!

Procedure:

Step 1: Mix rice flour and Ambi haldi powder in a bowl.

Step 1

Step 2: Add milk with cream into it.

Step 2

Step 3: Add green tea to it.

Step 3

Step 4: Lastly, add honey to it and mix, mix, mix!

Step 4

Apply generously and let it do its job till it dries.  Rinse with warm water and lastly with cold water and pat dry. Later, moisturize with a very light moisturizer (I use aloe vera and cucumber gel).

Final Pack!

I love how my skin feels after the pack – soft, refreshed and nourished 😀 I have been using this pack since past 2 weeks and I love it to the core! I’m going to continue using it forever!

This pack is a real good discovery; you can use it thrice a week and you will be able to see the difference within 1-2 months depending on your skin type.

    1. Hi Barsha… Rice flour you’ll get in any kirana store… Milk cream meaning malai! ya kaccha dudh is also OK if it suits your skin 🙂

      1. Thankew vidhi di..
Maine mixer me rice ko grind kia tha.bt wo pura powder ni hua..so I use it as body scrub.. Ghar me rice flour kaise banae?

        1. Barsha, Rice flour kirana shop se you’ll get it ready made 🙂 and it is soft fully powdered… Haldi ko you can first crush in powder form (in a mixer, or in jisme masala peeste hai ) and then usme daal do 🙂

  1. Hey Vidhi, this is very doable.. l:) oved this post 🙂 and yeah our kitchen is loaded with amazing stuff, it’s good to experiment and cook up a storm 😛

  2. This is a foolproof homemade face pack Vidhi…I know so many to-be brides start using it months before marriage to get that glow 🙂

  3. I hv questns jomol di.

Which is best concealer for hidind dark circle in the range of 200?
I hv oily pimple wala skin and mediam fair complexion.

  4. Hey Vidhi I can vouch for this face pack since I have been using this pretty regularly for the past 4-5 years. I used it everyday for 1month before my wedding and my complexion looked really clear and glowy on the big day! BTW I used to use actual kachhi haldi paste instead of the powder and raw milk instead of cream as I have super oily skin. It works like magic! BTW – the ambi haldi sounds good and hassle-free, is it the one from Banjara’s?

    1. Yes Aarbee… it is really awesome hai na!I’ve found my skin to be glowing as well… No this one is from Lala’s I had gone to bangalore and got it from there. I’ll try with kachha dudh as well 🙂

      1. But Banjara’s one also must be decent… Also it’s best to get it from any ayurvedic store if you know any 🙂

  5. vidhi milk with malayi…will it be removed only by washing with water…i think it will leave some greasines on face???

    1. Hi Nausheen… no it will not leave greasiness as it has other ingredients which balances that 🙂 But if your skin is too oily; then you can adjust the quantity of the cream accordingly 🙂

  6. this is an uhmazing face pack… I am currently using it now.. But instead of kasturi manjal,i am using homemade herbal powder that my mom made with so many herbs including kasturi manjal, dried rose petals and vetiver…the pack is just making my skin oh -so- smooth… I am also using that powder for bath and its just awesome…. The complexion is getting better each day with the use of this pack…

  7. Hey, can I use normal haldi powder instead of this kasturi manjal one.. will that also work in the same way or this has some special effect?

    1. Hi Divya, Normal Haldi can be used; but do not use too much of it or face will turn yellow! Yes Ambi haldi powder has other benefits to it… but till your find that powder normal haldi will work just as well 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! Have you heard of Banjara’s even they have Ambi Haldi powder 🙂 Also if you know any other small ayurvedic shops you will find it there 🙂 I live in Mumbai and we do get it here 🙂

    1. Bookmark! 😀 gee thanks Melisa…:) yes it works on all skin types:) if ur skin is too oily adjust the milk cream consistency accordingly:)

    1. No issues Barsha, 🙂 keep asking:)) green tea again any general store … You can use tetley ka green tea or twinnings ka. Go for normal green tea don’t go for any flavours:)

  8. K.thanx.
Plz write the full name of green tea pack..

Green tea extract kaise banaege? Pani boil krke usme grn tea daalke kya? Isko fir refrigeratr me rkhna padega kya?

    1. Hey Ekta! There’s this shop in Kandivali west near SV Road, they sell all ayurvedic powders… at times I do get it from them. This particular one… I’ve asked my friend to get 4 boxes when he was in bangalore 🙂
You can try banjara’s ka as well 🙂

    1. Yes Barsha, Just follow the instructions…:-) Green tea bags can also be used, but leaves are better… Yes just boil water add green tea to it and leave for 10 mins! later strain and use water 🙂 Hope I’ve answered your queries 🙂

  9. Hmmm..Thankeeeeew vidhi di..
