Homemade Soothing Eye Mask: Do It Yourself

Homemade Soothing Eye Mask: Do It Yourself

Under eye dark circles, puffed eyes, tired eyes after long hours working in front of a computer are common problem nowadays. I spend 9 hours a day, sitting in front of my laptop and reach home with tired eyes. I generally soak rose water on cotton pads and leave it on my eyes, but today, I am showing a more effective and natural way to soothe eyes. Today’s DIY is a soothing eye mask, with simple kitchen ingredients.

So, let’s see what we need to make this soothing eye mask:

  • Raw Potato.
  • Cucumber.
  • Grater.
  • Cotton pads. I have used normal cotton as I ran out of cotton eye pads.

How To Make:

Firstly, peal the skin of the raw potato and start grating it. Grate as much as you want. I have grated only half a potato here.

Grated Potato

Now, grate the cucumber in a similar way.

Cucumber

We have both grated potato and cucumber.  Squeeze them hard and try taking out the juice from the potato and cucumber.

Cucumber and potato juice

You will see a greenish yellow juice, similar to what is shown in the picture.  Extract as much as you can.

Now, take you cotton pads and dip them into the bowl of juice. Cotton will absorb the juice very quickly. So, you can also add drops of the juice to the cotton pads.

Cotton Ball

Your eye mask is ready.

Eye Mask

You may keep it in the fridge for a few minutes and then use, but I felt this was cool enough to soothe my tired eyes.
Leave this mask on your eyes for 10 minutes. Relax, relax, relax.

You will feel fresh and your eyes will not have the puffy look.

Potato is the best natural remedy for dark circles and cucumber is THE best at treating puffy eyes. These natural ingredients do wonders in pampering and treating our skin problems.

This DIY will come handy when you are deadly tired after a day long of work. If you do not have time to make these eye pads, apply the juice on your eyes and see the results. They are super good and effective.

Apart from this, you can also apply used tea bags as eye pads and eye coolant.

When Mother Nature has given us such wonderful remedies, why go for products with chemicals and falsie claims?
