Homemade Besan – Milk Ubtan for Summers

HEY Ladies πŸ˜€

I have a confession πŸ˜€ I try to make everything at home πŸ˜€ which is both a bad and a good thing :/ . but since a long time I have not used anything on my face apart from besan and nimbu , well almost seven years now . I got to know how many chemicals are added in the facewashes and I really didn’t trust the brands but I still used soap for my body and after a lot of thought I realized that I should stop using it and make something at home and use it like soap and Viola I started making ubtan at home πŸ˜€ and it really works , depending upon the type of skin you have , or the season you can customize your own ubtan and the positive point is it is cheaper and more ph balanced and really doesn’t have any preservative that you might not like . πŸ™‚

Okay so my summer ubtan is as follows , you will need
-lemon
– milk
– Besan (chickpea flour)
– turmeric
– and a big air tight container )

Now this is very easy and you will love it πŸ˜€

1) take your air tight container and clean it nicely , then make sure there is no water inside ,

2)now take 8 tablespoons of besan – this will make enough ubtan for a week . πŸ™‚

3)now take 3 big lemons and take the juice out of it in the container , make sure that you do not mix the seeds with this one because if those seeds go into your batroom ka nala then you are done :/ , try to mix it , it wont make a flowy batter but it’ll be very clumpy which is okay . πŸ™‚

4)now take a big cup of milk and pour it out gently making a thin paste which you can easily distribute throughout your body :). You can put more milk if you think that your ubtan is too thick or can take little milk if you think that the ubtan is to runny , you can add more besan to it.

5)Then you will take a pinch of turmeric powder and put it in the mixture ☺ don’t put too much , itll make your look yellow πŸ˜› if you put too much.

6) and that it is , your Ubtan is made πŸ™‚ use it on your face or your body and your set for your whole week πŸ˜€

The consistency of the ubtan should be a bit runny but not too much , just apply it all over your body and see the difference . you have to store this with a lid in your refrigerator and it will thicken on its own so just add more milk if it does so ☺
This ubtan is great in removing tan and making your skin feel less dry , the milk is a very powerful cleaner , try applying milk on your face and see . my mom once washed her face with milk and all the bleach she did came off πŸ˜› .
Take this ubtan apply it all over your body before applying any water on it and massage as your massage with your soap and then rinse with water . πŸ™‚

The milk moisturizes, the lemon lightens, the turmeric is an antifungal agent and the besan removes excess oil .
My body has become less dry and I can actually see the difference in the tan , although this might not be the perfect ubtan for you because you might have oily skin but you can always add or substract ☺ that’s the nice thing about making things on your own .

I will experiment more around with these ubtans because I really like the way they work πŸ˜€

Tell me if you guys use ubtan and if it works for you πŸ™‚

Love
komal

    1. Noopuri you can try for a day or two first & if it suits u well then you can start using it regularly.. but i have somewhere read that using Beasn regularly is not gud.. thrice in a week is gud but more than that can have side effects.. coz coz coz..
      “Excess of Everything is bad..”

      1. Swati thats true but the peoblem is it suits some people and for others it is bad , Besan is used to remove excess oil , it is definitely better then all the face washes which foam because they have chemicals in them but those face washes may work for someone and besan might give them allergy πŸ™‚ but by experience i can tell you , using besan and nimbu two times a day dosent hard your skin , it remains Ph balanced thats why besan is used on Infants πŸ™‚

        1. Ok.. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ twice a day is a dream for me.. :struggle: :struggle: u so helpful Komal O:) :worship: & :thanks: for replying.. :puchhi:

    2. Noopur , Ive been using this for a long time πŸ™‚ Dont worry , par na check before because sometimes things might not work for the other person as it works for me na πŸ™‚ , i actualy edited this storage wala point to 3 days because it depends on the weather too but something went wrong :). you can try storing it for 3 days and not a week πŸ™‚ if you are not using milk in it then you can store it for a week in fridge πŸ™‚

  4. I have tried this once..for some reason, the smell of besan mixed with milk or curd makes me feel pukish    😐 😐

    1. Hehe..That happened couple of years back wid me too-when Mom used to force the besan-curd ubtan on me-now I ignore smell of any product that gives my skin a glow πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

    2. πŸ˜› sam to sam what my friend but if it irritates you then you can add any essential oil or rose water in it πŸ™‚ oh and if you add cold Milk it dosent smell πŸ™‚

  5. :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: Me trying this !!!! thankuu for the beauty recipe Komal :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

    1. Preserve it for 3 days in fridge okay ? not a week , i tried to edit this one but something wrong happened , okay ? 3DAYS ? IN FRIDGE πŸ™‚ with lid πŸ˜›

  6. This is awesome Komal! I like using a mix of multani mitti+neem powder+rose petal powder+haldi mix for my skin. I store it in a jar and mix a small amt with water whenever I want to apply. Homemade stuff is best!!! Seven years Komal WOW!!

    1. Good hai na Ankita ? see the ubtan you make is so nice and it works for you πŸ™‚ thats what i was saying that you can customize your ubtan πŸ˜›

    1. πŸ˜€ HAHHAHAH :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: usmain Milk bhi hai :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :/ sirt besan aur namak hota toh theek tha πŸ˜›

  7. Nice Review Komal   & i too use this for my skin but not on regular basis.. i use this thrice in a week..& i somewhere read that using Excess of besan can be Injurious.. :suspense: :suspense: but if it is suiting u well then there’s not a problem.. :puchhi:

    1. Swati , you can try abhi for some days na ? 2 time s a day wash you face with it πŸ™‚ and one a day wash your body with it and if it dosent suite you then you can discontinue it na ? πŸ™‚ oh bydway when putting the ubtan on face make sure your face is wet πŸ™‚

    1. thats the problem with these things that you have to make them , thats why i make them every few days and stuff it in the fridge πŸ™‚

  8. Hey Komal.. This is exactly what my mom used on me during my childhood!!! At my place this is what is used to bathe infants (minus the nimbu of course)!!!

But I never knew this cud be stored.. I’ll try it now!!! I can actually smell the paste, it’s so familiar!!! Thanks for the storage tip!!! :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :puchhi: :puchhi:

  9. Girls, i make a concoction of besan and milk powder (left unused since my daughter refused to have it 😐 ) with a pinch of turmeric and some almond powder and store it in my fridge. every evening i add a bit of malai (winters)/ milk/ dahi (summers) and wash my face with this. works wonders….. Thanks Komal for reminding that i need to make this again for this summer!

  13. tHIS IS a simple ubtan recipe…the ones I searched on the net were very complicated, I will definately try this…thank you Komal :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

  14. :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: Thank you komallll . . . . hehehehehe … this is the basic of all the ubtaans….

we make dis to bathe babies everyday … πŸ™‚

i have not tried putting lemon … ll try it with lemon now πŸ™‚ thank u so much for d recipe

    1. πŸ™‚ rati you knwo i know other ubtans too but the ingredients are so not available everywhere that i had to write a simpler one πŸ™‚

  15. hey komal,
nice ubtan, I use besan + dahi in summers which leaves my skin super soft and removes all the tan as well.

  16. Hey Komal…the recipe is great except one thing…it is better you prepare it fresh every time otherwise vitamin C in lemon juice breaks down in contact with atmosphere so it becomes useless after half hour so lemon juice becomes useless πŸ™ a better method is to dry the lemon and the orange rinds / peels and make a mixture and then out it in the ubtan….lemon rind has more of lemon essential oil than the lemon itself so don’t throw it away….and yeah it is amazing for removing the tan…I used besan + milk and it has cleared the tan of my arms really well…

  17. cool post! you can also try almond paste in milk. this pack should be applied and once it dries scrub it in circular motions. works like magic in giving glow and improving skin tone. bye !!!

  18. Well,I am glad that someone has tried, what I tried and also taken the trouble of sharing it with the rest. This is exactly what I was using from the past 1 week and my skin feels great. My only addition to it was red massoor dal powder(which can be grinded at home) and gulab jal in place of lemon (As I get red itchy patches on applying Lemon)
besan+milk+Massoor dal powder + Haldi + gulab Jal
I use the same to wash my face anytime of the day(For that I do preserve some amount of it in my fridge though). It is much better than any of the face washes.
I would like to make a few additions to the above post.
    1) Some people suffer from an allergy from besan wherein they develop rashes on application of besan, such people can try red massoor dal powder(which can be grinded at home) .It is an excellent remedy for removing dark spots and also improves skin tone. Also if you grind it at home,it’s course powder helps in exfoliating dead skin which helps in getting rid of skin ailments a like Keratosis Pilaris.Add multani mitti powder and a teaspoon of honey to it which is acts like a good moisturizer and also adds glow to your skin
    2) If you suffer from any skin erruptions or dermatitis, try adding neem powder,Anantmool powder,Sariva powder,Santra Chaal Powder(Dry Skin of oranges and grind), and chandan powder
You can take equal qtty of these herbs and mix and keep.and while making your daily uptan add a teaspoon of it.

All These are definitely much much better than those thousands of Rs worth chemical laden creams, packs, soaps and so on.Nobody can doubt that.

    Thanks

  19. Thanks to you for sharing this.I have been using the same uptans as per my Mom’s advice and have seen great results. I use to get lot of tan during school days and my mom made me use these uptans from a very early age.It not only did help me improve my complexsion but also improved my over all skin look and feel.I have dry skin so i skipped the lemon juice with olive oil or honey. It gave me the skin of Hema malini. She does the same too.
