My Experience with Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint :
Packaging: This product comes in a squeeze tube which makes it highly travel-friendly and convenient to use.
Texture & Consistency:
Even though the name of this product describes it as a skin tint which basically means a tinted moisturizer; it is actually leaning more towards a foundation. The texture and consistency of this product is very thick and creamy hence it can be a little difficult to blend it with fingers as it does not spread easily. You would need some sort of an applicator which for me is my beauty blender. I find that it helps blend it beautifully. It goes on without being uneven or patchy.
Coverage:
This most definitely a medium coverage foundation. It hides most of skin imperfections like redness and uneven pigmentation but for major imperfection like my acne marks and dark circle, I do need to go over with a concealer.
Since it such a thick product, I don’t find this lightweight on my skin. I can definitely feel the product sitting on top of my skin and it has slight bit greasiness to it. When my run my finger over my face and then rub my fingers together I can feel the slippery aftermath of the product which was transferred onto my fingertips. It is imperative that I set this product with a setting powder and it does need a few touchups during the day too to avoid looking a grease ball.
It is also a very hydrating formula. It does not cling to dry patches or accentuate the. On the contrary my skin never feels a hint a dryness with this product on, which is a good thing for my extra dry skin this winter but this is most definitely a con for those with oily or combination skin.
Shade:
The shade I got was Sand which is described as a Medium with pink undertones. I does match my Mac NW23 skin tone perfectly and I do not find it looking too pink on my skin once it is sheered out.
I love the fact it contains a SPF 15 and is paraben free. It does not have any off-putting scent.
Overall, I do like this product but I am not in love with it. The extra thick formula can sometimes be difficult to apply and it does feels heavy and a bit greasy on my skin due to the very hydrating formula. I do not mind the extra hydration during the winter time but I do not see myself reaching for this during the summer time. I also do not see this product not working for oily skin or those with major imperfections to hide. It also comes with a high price tag, hence I suggest you look onto much better face products in the market and give this a skip.
