This review will be on the Hourglass Nº 28 Primer Serum.
About The Product:
A richly concentrated, intensely hydrating, and dual-purpose oil blend serum that treats your skin as it prepares it for makeup.
This silky, luxurious oil blend glides on to strengthen the skin’s natural moisture barrier, even out pores, and shield against environmental aggressors. The formula’s hydrating action helps to create a refined and retexturized surface for makeup. Skin appears dewier, younger, and more luminous. The “28” in the product’s name refers to the formula’s key ingredients, which include 14 essential oils, 10 lipid-rich plant oils, and four vitamins.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Synthetic Fragrances
– Synthetic Dyes
My Experience with Hourglass Nº 28 Primer Serum:
This primer comes in a heavy glass bottle so it is not technically travel-friendly but if you do want that option, it is also sold as .32 oz size travel bottle too. The bottle is quite heavy and I love the fact it has a nice pump dispenser which disperses the right amount of product every time. One small pump is enough to cover my entire face and some of my neck hence this 1 oz bottle will last me a long time.
The serum is a transparent liquid-gel like consistency. It spreads super easy on the face and has that silicone like smoothness going on. Skin immediately feels plump and softer. It does go on slightly wet so I do need to wait a minute for it to sink it but once it does OMG the effect is amazing. My skin feel and looks smooth as a canvas. This primer also gives a healthy dewy sheen to the face without it looking oily or greasy. The sheen also shows through even my heaviest coverage foundation and gives an appearance of my skin glowing from within.
I have dry to very dry skin and this primer works beautifully with my skin type. It gives a boost of hydration to my skin and it almost feels like a skincare step. For trial purpose, I even skipped my moisturizer and only used this before my makeup and did not face a single dry patch during the entire day.
It prolonged the longevity of my makeup. It concealed pores and fine line to some extent, but not entirely. It does not feel heavy on my skin.I also love the fact that it has beneficial ingredients like vitamins and oils which could improve skin in the long run.
Since it is very hydrating it may work at a disadvantage for oily skin but I can totally see normal to dry skin types absolutely loving this.Overall, a total hit for me. This will be staple in my makeup routine for a long time. I will most definitely recommend this primer serum.
Pros of Hourglass Nº 28 Primer Serum:
• Smooth out skin and preps it for makeup.
• Leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated.
• Does not leave the face feeling oily or greasy.
• Increases the longevity of my makeup.
• Gives skin a beautiful glow from within which translates even through foundation.
• Has a lot of beneficial ingredients.
• No parabens and other harmful ingredients.
Cons of Hourglass Nº 28 Primer Serum:
• Does fill pores and smooth lines to some extent; not entirely. If you are someone whose main issues are big pores you might not like this much.
• Since it very hydrating it might not suit oily skin. For oily skin, I do recommend you check out the Hourglass Veil Mineral primer (review here).
• No SPF.
