In my previous post – How Educated Are Our Bollywood Divas?, I told you about the educational background of our Bollywood divas. This post is dedicated to the educational background of the handsome hunks of Bollywood. So, let’s begin!
He never dreamt of becoming an actor during his youth and the star took his education very seriously. After he completed his graduation from the famous Sherwood College in Nainital, he went on to do a double major in Science and Arts from Kirori Mal College, Delhi. And, he has also been awarded honorary doctorate degrees from Queensland University, Australia.
The man who is apparently a great philanthropist, did his schooling from the famous Scindia School in Gwalior and St. Stanislaus High School in Mumbai. However, he never finished college despite taking admission in National College, Mumbai.
I once saw an interview in which Randhir Kapoor admitted that Ranbir is actually the only person in their family to has completed his schooling! Can you believe it? He did complete his schooling, but dropped out of HR College in Mumbai only after two years of education. He then pursued his love i.e. acting, from the renowned Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan can’t boast of great education either. He barely completed school and entered the big crazy world of movies, which was his dream.
Our King Khan, attended St. Columba’s School, Delhi and even won the Sword of Honor, an annual award given to the student who best represent the spirit of the school. Shahrukh completed his graduation from Hansraj College, Delhi University and then enrolled in Jamia Millia Islamia for Masters’ in Mass Communication, but couldn’t complete it as he left to begin his journey in Bollywood.
Most of us remember him from the movie ‘Rang De Basanti’. He has a B.Com.(H) degree from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi and besides this, he was a part of his college’s theatre group and debating society. He has participated in many world debating championships as well. He did his MBA from SPJIMR, Mumbai, and was awarded CNBC Manager of The Year Award in 1999 for his eloquent speaking skills. Impressive, right!
The hot hunk of Bollywood has a strong educational background too. After completing his schooling from Bombay Scottish School, he got his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Jai Hind College and has an MBA degree too from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. If he had not got a break in movies, he would probably have ruled the profession of media planning.
The Highway star admitted that his parents wanted him to be a doctor. After finishing his schooling from DPS, R.K. Puram in Delhi, he went to Melbourne for higher studies and has both a bachelors and a masters degree in Business Management and Human Resource Management. After coming back to India, he was working in marketing before he ventured into acting and modeling.
This actor has an engineering degree in Electronics from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering in Nagpur. However, he was fated for Bollywood and like many others, his degree also sits in his closet.
Ayushmann has majored in English Literature from Chandigarh’s DAV College. He also has a Masters degree in Mass Communication from the School of Communication Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Sushant Singh Rajput
He was one brilliant student! Sushant appeared in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) 2003, and got 7th rank, followed by getting admission in the Delhi College of Engineering in the Mechanical Engineering stream. He was the national Olympiad winner in Physics and cleared 11 national engineering examinations, including the prestigious Indian School of Mines at Dhanbad. But, left it all to pursue his acting dreams.
Actor Ranveer Singh admits that he was a failure in studies. He joined junior college at HR College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. He was keen on learning creative writing and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Indiana University, Bloomington. And, it was only after this that he took up theatre. And, the rest is, as they say, history!
So, now you know, most of our Bollywood hunks are armed with solid degrees, but fate intervened and changed the course of their careers completely, and probably for better!
