How to do Hair Rebonding at Home

I am back with another post! Well, it looks like I am sort of addicted to writing and helping you guys with my articles. Can you guess what we would be speaking about today? Yes, we would be talking about how to do hair rebonding at home. Rebonding of hair is a chemically done treatment which helps to straighten your hair. The chemicals used in the treatment breaks the bonds of the hair, thus, leaving you with manageable, soft and frizz-free hair. Rebonding is a time-consuming process, but if done correctly, it can give you the best results. We can do hair rebonding at home or salon. And, today, we would be discussing how to do hair rebonding at home.

1. Wash your hair:

The first step of rebonding hair is washing your hair thoroughly at home. Wash your hair using a mild shampoo and rinse with cold water. Prevent using hot water as it can damage the hair follicles and also affect the texture of the hair. Once you have washed your hair properly, you should blow dry your hair on medium setting. Use Matrix Opti.Care Smoothing Shampoo or Wella Enrich Shampoo for best results.

2. Separate the hair into sections:

Once the hair has dried completely, let’s proceed to the next step. Separate your hair into sections with a comb. And use a clip to hold the sections in place. Take a small bunch of hair and pin it so that you can proceed with the treatment easily.

3. Choose a hair relaxant:

Choosing the hair relaxant is another important step in hair rebonding. Always opt for hair relaxant which suits your hair type. People with dry hair should look for hydrating and nourishing relaxant. Those with oily scalp should look for oil-free relaxant. Some of the best relaxants are Shiseido Crystallizing Cream, Wella Professional Straighten It Kit, and Schwarzkopf Professional BC Fibre Force Fortifier Treatment.

4. Start applying relaxant:

Once you have chosen the right type of hair relaxant, you should proceed further. Wear gloves and start applying the rebonding cream on your scalp. Make sure you apply hair relaxant to each of the tresses and cover it properly with the cream. Keep the product for at least 30 minutes. Also, follow the instructions which are mentioned behind the cream pack. You should keep a close check on your tresses because rebonding cream contains a lot of chemicals.

5. Steam your hair:

Now, take a steamer and steam your hair for 10-20 minutes. For people who don’t have a steamer at home, there’s another quick way to steam your hair. Soak a soft towel in lukewarm water. Remove the excess water from it and wrap it around the hair. Leave it for some time.

6. Rinse off the relaxant:

Now, the next step is to rinse out of relaxant from the hair. You can rinse with mild shampoo and conditioner and make sure cream gets out of the hair properly. Rinse out properly and use a blow dryer on medium setting to dry the hair.

7. Use keratin lotion:

Every one of us is aware of the fact that hair is made of keratin. Keratin is a form of protein our hair is basically made of. Apply the lotion on your hair thoroughly and do not rinse out.

8. Iron your hair:

Now, iron your hair using a ceramic flat iron or a good quality hair straightener. Section your hair again and straighten your hair by sections. Ironing can help to straighten the rest of the curls in your hair.
