How To Achieve a Natural Flush On Cheeks With Lipstick

How To Achieve a Natural Flush On Cheeks With Lipstick

Hey guys,

Sometimes we all get lazy to put on powder blush or maybe it wears off really easily and we opt for cream blushes, but don’t you get frustrated when it’s not long lasting on your cheeks, it just melts off your face like ice cream in the summer, it’s a fuss to blend into skin or you just can’t seem to find the right shade? Well, I saw this DIY from a makeup tutorial and tried it myself, loved it and thought I would share it with you guys too.

Ingredients that you will need:

Procedure:

Step 1:

Using your hand as the mixing palette, you’re going to swatch the lipstick on your hand. You can do multiple swatches or a single swatch if your lipstick is super pigmented like mine. If it’s a light pink or not a very pigmented lipstick, I would recommend doing multiple swatches because that way the color would appear better.

Step 2:

Squeeze an appropriate amount of primer onto the swatch, not too much or too little. The primer goes in to add that long-lasting effect that we all want in a cream blush and it won’t melt off your skin like ice cream. Here I used a face conditioning primer from Etude House, you can use any primer you would like though. You can use a primer that is suitable to your skin type and the results will still turn out the same as I know that sometimes you guys may get concerned about whether the DIY will be suitable for your skin type.

Step 3:

Squeeze an appropriate amount of liquid foundation into the mix too. Here, you can control how pigmented or subtle you want your cream blush to be by using dark or light shades of foundation. I used the L’oreal Paris Le Teint True Match Super Blendable Liquid with SPF 17 PA++ in the shade N1 Nude Ivory. However, you do not have to use a liquid foundation as this DIY is super flexible. You can use liquid BB Cream and liquid CC Cream.  I am not too sure about tinted moisturisers or tinted sunscreens, but you guys can give it a go if you want to and tell me how it goes.

Step 4:

Mix it all together really well. Mix it like it’s cardio workout for your fingers! After that, wipe off the excess on your finger with a tissue and you’re done. You’ve got your very own long lasting cream blush, now just apply it like how you’d normally apply cream blushes.

I had made mine quite light and subtle as I am pretty pale on the face and I just wanted a subtle, yet natural flush on the cheeks. The pigmentation is pretty decent too and it is buildable.  I find that this method gives the most natural finish and looks great on the skin. It also stays on all day long because of the primer and even under the sun, it didn’t fade.  It does not look cakey on skin and since I used a hydrating primer, it doesn’t drain moisture from my skin, but keeps my skin hydrated all day. It doesn’t take long to mix all the ingredients together, it takes just less than 5 minutes.

Have fun experimenting with this DIY guys! 🙂 I would love to hear how it goes. 😀 See you guys in the future DIYs.
