Makeup junkies love their makeup brushes a lot. And, why not! Makeup brushes help us achieve that flawless finish each time. Most of the makeup brushes we purchase are expensive, hence require a good amount of TLC. Don’t forget – it’s important to clean your brushes once a week if you use them regularly. Brush cleansers are easily available in the market but they are expensive. So let me show you a way to clean your brushes at home with a homemade brush cleansing method. I am going to discuss the step-by-step procedure, so let’s get started!
You will need:
⦁ A refreshing shampoo – to clean all the dirt and makeup deeply
⦁ Olive oil – to break down the makeup and the colors
⦁ Neem face wash – to remove all the germs
⦁ An aloe vera toner – to keep brushes fresh and soft
⦁ Any essential oil – to add a nice scent and to keep brushes fresh
⦁ A thin striped sponge pad – acts as a scrubbing pad
⦁ A small tub
⦁ Fresh water
⦁ Take a small tub and place that sponge pad nicely into that tub. Now add some water in the tub so that the sponge gets immersed in the water. Keep it like this for around 5 minutes. The sponge will absorb water during this time.
⦁ Next, add some refreshing shampoo according to the quantity of water. Then add a few drops of olive oil on the sponge.
⦁ After this, add some neem face wash and some soothing toner into the tub. Don’t mix these ingredients with your hand. Let them stay intact.
⦁ Next, take your dirty brush(es) and wipe the dirt with a remover wipe; this step actually removes all the dry particles from the brush.
⦁ Now dip your brush into the tub and nicely rub the brush on the sponge. Rub all your brushes in such a circular motion. Continue doing this for 1 minute.
⦁ Hold the sponge with your hand while washing smaller brushes as it will provide more precision.
⦁ Once you have done this step with each brush, throw that dirty water away. Now, take some fresh water again, and add two drops of lemon essential oil.
⦁ Again, clean your brushes well. After cleaning all your brushes thoroughly, keep them on a clean towel so that excess water gets removed. After this put them in your brush holder and let them dry naturally. You are done with the procedure. Now you can see a major difference in your brushes.
